Recovery Fluid

What do you guys drink for recovery after a workout? I really get a lot of miles out of gatorade and powerade. I know there are other mixes out there, etc. but I don't know them. Educate me!

I've never even tasted either of those drinks! Can you believe that? I do need to get out more. I just drink cold water.

I don't think it is the distance that matters so much as it is how much fluid you are sweating out when you run. You could run three miles and be a more copious sweater so you need to makes sure you drink something.

I drink Gatorade when I'm running 6 miles or more. Or if I'm exercising when it's hot. Otherwise I don't like toting a bunch of stuff about! And it is usually cool enough when I do a maintenance run that I'm not concerned about losing fluid.

But it is really important! When I started adding distance, I really learned by trial and error. And I had a couple of days where I clearly did not get enough fluid and I had a headache for the rest of the day!

I drink Gartoade G2 when I use something like that.

Dad, cold water is perfect! If you feel good after you exercise you are doing it just right!

I know Ang uses something that is sugar free. It is a mix. IT IS GROSS!!! But that's just my opinion! ;)

Julie, my favorite part of your post is when you pretended sometimes it wasn't hot in CA. What an imagination you have!

Hey, there was this one time when I could see my breath! And, NO Miss Smarty Pants, it wasn't because it was stinky! At least I don't think it was.........
