That was my time today! Not ground breaking by any means, but it was a solid run. And enjoyable! Yay ABBA! And, this is sad, but I was up at 5 am today. I think I was that excited about ABBA Gold!
Did miscellaneous floor things upon my return.
I also hit my hill at lunch. Which, by the way, is .08 of a mile. So I'm a little under half a mile when I do hills at lunch.
Yay desert! I leave tomorrow.

Good Morning
I ran outside again today and did the whole 2 miles again. Foggy and misty this morning but it seemed to add something to the mystique! I pretended I was running in the clouds. Took Billy Joel with me and listened to some of his more boring songs. Should stick to my 30 minute playlists where only the good songs play. Also did my 20 pushups and 20 situps. But was up a 1/2 lb this morning. Ate a dozen chocolate kisses yesterday so I'm blaming it on that. Have a good day.

ABBA!
So, exciting times here. I have the ABBA Gold album! Nabbed it from the office! So I'll be running to that tomorrow and I am really excited.
I had a good run today - 31:45. I was alone in the world this morning. Did my pushups and such. It was hard! After my second set I really had to talk myself into doing the final three sets. But I did it!
Batting cages at lunch today. Which was, as always, really fun. I really hit some balls hard! I'm The Natural!
I did well on eating today. I almost had a breakdown after work but I got some popcorn (no added oil/butter) which is only 120 calories per 2.5 cups. And 4 grams of fiber. So I figured that was a good snack that would help me stay on track. And I was right!
I also broke down and bought some valerian. I was hoping my sleep would adjust but I'm still having a hard time. Well, let me clarify. I'm having a hard time from 10 PM to 5:30 AM. I'm sleeping like a freaking rock when my alarm goes off! Anyway, the pills from the doctor make me lethargic the next day and I know valerian works for me.
Yay ABBA!

Get Ready to be PROUD!
Yes, I said, proud! I jogged the whole mile north this morning AND THE WHOLE MILE BACK HOME!! That's 2 miles of jogging! First time I've been able to do it ourside. I was nearly dead when I got home but will make this my goal now and do it for a couple weeks until it's easy. Or easier. Took me 21.15. Then I walked back up the driveway to get the paper and back down so didn't quite get to 30 minutes today but I RAN FOR 2 MILES!!! OUTSIDE!
I can't quite believe it myself here.
Have a good day.

A Solid Day
I had a really good run today! 31:47. I really like it when I'm in the 31s! Did squats, crunches, and other miscellaneous floor exercises upon my return.
This will come as a giant shock to you, but I did run hills at lunch! Also felt good. Today was one of those good days I guess.
I also had a good eating day. I felt motivated with my piece of paper in my pocket! I'd like to lose 7.5 pounds by 5/31/09 - we shall see how that works out! I won't beat myself up if I don't quite make it. And I won't starve myself to make it! But it is good to have a goal.
I should be hitting the batting cages tomorrow so that is pretty exciting!
Sleep well - I hope I do too!

Back to the grind
Back at it today! I had a good, albeit somewhat sluggish, run this morning. My time was 32: 39. The time wasn't bad at all. Just one of those outings where I felt slow. I don't know if that even makes sense!
I did a bunch of calisthenics when I came home. I did more lunges then usual. I'm also adding one pushup to my set. So I am doing five sets of six pushups this week.
Ran some hills at lunch. That felt good.
I'm still sore! I just cannot believe how bowling took the wind out of my sails!
I really ate healthy food all day today. I've been having a harder time over the last couple of weeks. Specifically regarding food, not exercise. I don't know why. But I'm just trying to pay attention and do a better - and healthier - job.

Good Morning
Another day, another dollar. Or something like that! Cold here again today. Only 38 so ran inside again this morning. Did 28.08 so getting close to the magic 30 minutes. Weight is holding steady at 6-7 lbs below my goal so feeling very good about that. Have a good day.

Good Morning
It's cold here again! Cold front came through about 6 pm yesterday. Only 38 at 8 am when I was ready to run so did it inside again today. Ran for 27:56 today. Wish I could do that outside. I'd have it made then. But will keep working at it. Took peter, Paul, and Mary with me today. Was in a quieter mood I guess. I haven't been bowling for years and years. Use to like it and probably still would. Did Wii bowling with Carter and Anderson last time we were there. I lost! But it was fun. Weight is now staying at 6 lbs below my goal so glad to see that. Been there this whole week. Have a good day.

Short and Sweet
Yep, that's me! This post too! Just got home and I'm tired!
I had medium sleep last night and, as usual, I sure didn't want to get off when my alarm started whistling at me! But, also as usual, I did get up.
I had a great run this morning. 32:07. Did pushpus and such on my return. The hills at lunch. Then bowling tonight! And I'm already bowling sore!

The Princess and the Pea
That's me!
I didn't get a wink of sleep last night. I am entering that non-sleeping crabby zone. How is it that my jacked sleep patterns have become so jacked I know the zones?? Anyway, I have a set of sheets that I need to try and return. They are only a couple of months old but they have pilled! And I CANNOT STAND it!!! That isn't why I could not sleep, but it sure was all I could focus on while I was flopping about! I finally solved the problem by just laying on the other side. I have two sets of these sheets and only one is doing this. Really frustrating!
Anyway! I did get up and run this morning. Coffee saved the day! It was brewed and I didn't want to waste it!
I had a really good run - 32:32. Did some assorted floor exercises upon my return. And I did some hills at lunch! Lot's of exercise today.

The Upswing!
Or just the swing in general! Got to the batting cages at lunch today! Super fun, of course. I really had some solid hits and it was really nice to be outside. Great day for it!
I ran this morning and it was better then anticipated. I had another morning where my intention was not to "try". Just do it and not worry too much about the time on my watch. And my time turned out to be 32:11. I was impressed! It is neat to think about how in shape I am that I have such a killer pace even when I'm not feel 100%!
I did pushups and crunches when I got back from my run.
More tomorrow!

Well, just keep slugging! Some days that's all we can do. I jogged inside again this morning. Only 32 when I was ready to go out. Supposed to get to 70 later today though and 81 tomorrow. So maybe tomorrow morning I can be outside. Hope so. Jogged 25.04 today. Setting my outside jogging goal for 20 minutes and see if I can do it. Have a good day!

Slugging Along
Well, I am feeling better. Although not 100%. I still have this headache. It stinks!
I did run this morning, although I did not break any records! 33:23 was my time. Slow, but I just wanted to get out there. I really didn't try to push myself. In fact, I was surprised that it was not 35 minutes, actually. So that is good!
I did not run hills at lunch either. I just didn't have it in me! Ate healthy all day though.
Now to bed. I am treating myself and have the AC on. Cause I'm sick!

Good Morning
I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. Jogged inside again this morning. Only 30 when I was ready to go. Going to be 60 this afternoon they say though so hope they are right. And then getting warmer over the next few days. We have a long way to go to hit 98 however. :)
Jogged for 24.40 this morning and took our friend, Barry, with me. Overall, I'm doing 2.5 miles now with 2 of them jogging. But, again, that's inside on a level surface. Hope to get back outside tomorrow and see what I can do. Just getting up to the mailbox makes me feel it in my legs. But I'll keep working at it.
In regards to my weight, I started down this road at 216! I can hardly believe it until I look at pictures of myself then. My goal was 175 and I got there more than a year ago now. All winter now I have been bouncing between 170 and 173. Up and down. Down and up. Well, for the last few days (since Saturday) I have been below 170! Must be the running. This morning I was at 169. So, besides your challenge, this is incentive, too.
Gotta get to work.

Good Morning
A very late start here this morning! Good thing it's my day off! Didn't get out of bed until 8:15! What a lazy bones. Anyway, only 28 degrees when I got up and snow flurries coming down! So, didn't even think about going outside. Used the treadmill and jogged for an all time best of 24:11!!! That's 2 miles! But, of course, I keep the treadmill level the whole time. Can't do 2 miles outside yet. Couldn't even get to 1.5 on Saturday out there so have work to do. But feeling pretty good about what I did this morning. Also got up to 20 puchups and 20 situps as of today so we'll see how that goes.
Suggestion: you run the 5K outside (with the hills) and I run it on the treadmill (on the level). What do you think?

Good Morning
I hate to burst your bubble but I will never be running 3 miles by June! I started at the house this morning to see how far I could get. By the time I got to the top of the driveway my legs were already feeling it. How do you run hills? Anyway, got to the mile mark (at 10:15) and turned around and there was another incline! Made it about 200 yards more but that was it. Legs just couldn't do it. Walked a quarter mile and then ran another quarter when it was level again. I'll keep working at it though. Heart got to 152 which is the highest it's been I think. I don't wear that thing every day. About twice a week. But this was the highest I've seen. So I guess that's good. I need to do some exercises to strengthen my legs. What do you suggest?

More excitment!
Today's run was 31:15! I'm excited - really have been picking up the pace. I think it is my focus. I'm really trying to improve that first mile. Usually I just zone then. My distance is not really precise - well, I AM running three miles! But where exactly is mile 1? Uh....not sure! But my first watch review is usually 11:20ish. Today it was 10:46!
Did a lot of floor things. And then I ran hills at lunch. Seems like that has become the usual.
Tomorrow is my weigh in day. Well, my mark down day! And I know I'm up about a pound. Irritating but I know my pants are fitting better. I will just do the work I can do and I'll leave my body to figure out the weight thing, I guess!
I really like the idea of the first annual Fitnatics 5K! First we need a logo and then I can make us t-shirts. I vote for BLUE!!!

31:19!!
I had a really great run this morning! My time was 31:19. I was darn thrilled! That gives me 10:26ish mile! I'll keep practicing. It is enjoyable to do it now.
I did pushups upon my return and I ran some hills at lunch.
I'm worn. I didn't sleep like a pro last night. Oh well - tonight! I ate a little more today then usual, but I was hungry darn it! It was all healthy though.
Sounds like we might be running partners on our trip! Congratulations! I'm so very impressed with you!!!

Good Morning
I went outside this morning even though it was only 36 when I left the house. Broke my own rule by doing so but was ok. Wore 2 sweatshirts!
But the big news is that I ran the mile back in 10.04!!!!! I can't believe it either. I was done when I got home though. Couldn't have done any more. But, wow. That's remarkable for me! Now, I will slow down a bit and run a little farther each day.
Have a good one.

Brrrr!
Well, darn it is cold! We have had a blustery and grey day. I love it!
I am glad I didn't know it was all cold and windy out before I opened my door to run this morning. But I just went about my run and it was great. My time was 32:16! I guess that Euro pop really helps!
I did a lot of Calisthenics, too. In fact, I'm a little sore!
Also got out at lunch and did some hill running. Six times.
Yay! I'm all dedicated I guess!

I'm going to bed!
And I mean that in the poutyest way ever. I forgot my book at work! Really sad times over here!
And, I'm tired! I went to bed at 10 last night and slept darn well. All the same, I really was uninterested in getting up this morning my my alarm went off.
I did though! I'm so much better at being dedicated to this morning exercise! Anyway, I ran this morning and my time was 32:46. Really nice day out today. And a lot of people were out and about. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in the world when I am out there in the morning!
Jessica and I went to the batting cages at lunch and it was really fun. I'll be sore tomorrow though!

Good Morning
Good morning. We're off on another week of fun and fitness! (I'm trying to think positive!) Actually, I feel pretty good this morning. Think the stress of Lent and Easter is over and had a good night's sleep, too.
So, had to jog inside this morning. Only 36 when I got up at 7:30 and I won't go outside unless it's at least 40. That's just my personal rule. Anyway, I jogged 22 minutes and 23 seconds according to the music on the iPod. Treadmill registered 22.05 so have some missing seconds there somewhere. Tomorrow I'll use my stopwatch, too, just to see. Anyway, I think that figures out to be 1.833 miles in 22 minutes. So, how long did it take me to do one mile? A little math quiz to get you thinking!
Have a good day.

Rain Day!
It was like a snow day - you know, a day off. But rain induced!
I didn't realize it was raining until I opened the door to hit the road! And I thought, "You know what? I'm just not that dedicated!!" So I did a million jumping jacks and various floor exercises. And I can feel them - I'm sore!
I did get out at lunch and did some hill running. So it wasn't a total wash today!
My weigh in made me sad this morning, though. I was up half a pound from my low (yay!!) weight of yesterday. And I KNOW it was because I did not get to sweat out every ounce of liquid with a run before stepping on that scale! Oh well. Thems the breaks!
You asked about hill running. Well, first, I started it because it is really good for helping with speed on regular runs. Or so "they" say. It is a muscle builder and helps with general stamina.
I just found a hill close to the office. I bet it is only a tenth of a mile going up. I'll drive it Monday to get a distance. Anyway, it isn't gigantic. So I go to the hill and I run up it as fast as I can. And then I walk down. It helps me get my breath back. And then I run up it again! I am doing it six times right now. It is a major heart pumper, I'll tell you that.
I took some time off doing hills and just picked it up again a month ago, I guess. But the first time, oh did my butt hurt! I was in agony for two days!
It is raining right now!

Woo boy!
I had a great run this morning! My 1 mile time was great - so was my 1.5, and so it went. I ran though a groin muscle cramp and a self induced diaphragm spasm. Self induced cause I'm a spaz! I kid! I was not paying attention to my breathing during a couple of close hills and I think that did it.
How long was my run? Well sir, it was 32:5somesuch. But how about the distance? I don't know!! I was doing my final push and I realized I was waaaay past my stop block! Like blocks past! Talk about zoning out!
Did some lunges and squats upon my (belated) return home. Then The Plank.
I also ran some hills at lunch. 7 I think. Again, zoned out so I lost count.

Note to self!
Don't go to the batting cages during spring break and immediately following the start of baseball season! I went over at lunch with the intention of hitting a few balls and it was so busy! With little people! I'll give it some time to calm down I guess.
I had a good - sort of slow - run this morning. 32:49. I also did 5 sets of 5 pushups. Pushups are hard!
That's it - running was the exercise for the day! Which is good - I probably needed a break. I'm worn out. I worried myself awake all night last night, so hopefully I'll rest up tonight.

Back on track!
Well, the good news from the west coast is that the scale was down again! Not where I was last Friday, but I feel better that this was a lot of water weight or something that will easily come off. Well...."easily". All it takes is effort!
I had a good run this morning. 32:29. Almost a minute off of my time yesterday! Then I did lunges and squats. Six hills at lunch and a walk after work! So lots of exercise again.
We went into a beautiful neighborhood after work. The north side of Kensington. Amazing! We will go there if you like next time you visit.
Do you like dates? I got some when we were in Borrego and they are the best I have ever had. I am forcing myself to not eat them all at once! But, let's face it, they make sugar out of those things! I'm limiting myself to two a day. Although yesterday I had four.........Well, two is my goal! As in, I'm going to eat them all till I only have two left!!!
Like I said, a good run this morning. It smells so beautiful out right now because so much is flowering. Really enjoyable.

Catch Up
I've got all kinds of catching up to do!
Friday I had a really great run at the beach. It was an enjoyable morning, all the way around! I relaxed and took my time drinking coffee. Then headed over to Coronado and ran on the beach for about 32 minutes.
Saturday we had an excellent bike ride!
Sunday - I exercised my stomach by eating a lot!
I had such a great trip - as you know! But I am sad to report that I had dismal results when I stepped on the scale this morning. It was pretty disheartening.
But I'm back on track. I ran this morning - 33:23 was my time. A bit longer but that's OK. I really kind of felt uncomfortable once I got on the road. I felt like I had just finished a gigantic meal. But I powered through it!
Did pushups upon my return. This week I am doing 5 sets of 5. Working on it! I did crunches, too. Did some hills at lunch. Then Bart and I went for a walk after work.
Lots of exercise today! Which is good. And it all felt good and was enjoyable.

Good Morning
Good morning. Another week! Time flies when you're having fun. And even when you're not!
Not sure how long I jogged this morning because my finger caught the iPod cable coming out of my pocket, pulled it out, and stopped the music! Hate it when that happens!!! Am pretty sure it was 16+ minutes though. Felt like 26 this morning for some reason. Took Elton with me today.
Bright and sunny here this morning but only 31 now and not going to get much warmer they say. I might go outside this afternoon and piddle around some anyway. Have two blueberry bushes to plant. Hope they grow. Came in the mail on Saturday. I'm not sure the frost is out of the ground yet though but it says to plant them right away so I will.
Have a good day back at work!

Who Knew???
Did you know that you "should" have named me Olivia? Yeah, I never figured that either. Facebook just told me. That is why I won't live my life based on "shoulds"!
Boy did I have a tough time getting out of bed this morning! My alarm went off and I snoozed. But actually I dismissed! I knew it deep down and I did not fall back to sleep. Got up about ten minutes later then usual. Sleeping in is bitter because it cuts into my coffee time!
But I was on the road by 7, as usual. Time was 32:52, which is three seconds better then yesterday I believe.
Then I did the usual Calisthenics. Really challenging!
Some hills at lunch. It is good to go out and get some sun and have some blood pumping in the middle of the day.
We are heading to the desert tomorrow! I'm really excited. We are going to get lots of biking in. Yes, I have a helmet! I'm planning on running before we leave tomorrow. I'm also going to bring my running duds with me. I may (or may not!) put some miles in!
I'll report back Sunday!

Back to it
I got up bright and early this morning! I feel so much better that I got up and ran. I think I actually felt like I was letting myself down.
My time today was 32:55. Longer, but I took some time off so it is to be expected! I also did pushups.
I also ran some hills at lunch.
So, a good exercise day!
