I'm already sore!

I walked over to the gym today and lifted weights for the first time in 100 years.  I'm already sore, just a couple hours later!

Also trudged The Stairway to Hell, one of my fav cardio machines.

Hope I am not to sore to make my commute to the  office in the morning!

Doing some things

I'm sure out if the running habit.  I have done a couple runs and then....nothing.  Today, when I realized I was getting to the "nothing" phase, I decided to go for a walk.  And I'm glad I did, it was delightful!

Still at it

Finally back up to 1.5 miles today and 50/50 on the exercises.  So making some progress.  If I can stay well now I will continue to up my mileage week by week and be ready for a 5k in the spring.  I hope anyway.

Gym Day

Gym day but not weights.  I ran on the treadmill - under 2 miles.  And then I walked (at a 6 incline) until I hit 30 minutes.  Very wet here today.  Well, not pouring.  But dripping enough to not have a lake walk be pleasant! I've gotta get back into a routine here because I'm sore!

A morning run

Yeah!  I did!  I ran before work this morning.  It was only 31 but really that's not too bad once I get moving.  The idea of 31 is worse than the reality of 31.  I did 2 miles again.  Just not ready for 3, I've been out of the game too long.

I went for a run!

Yeah!  Truth!  I can't really believe it my own self!  I ran 2 miles.  Slow.  I can tell I've been very out of the game.  And I am still congested and could feel my lungs being....I don't know.  Congested! 

No sneezing/nose dripping today.  I think I know what the issue has been and I've stopped taking that medicine my doctor gave me and it really does seem to be the culprit.  Back to that drawing board!

A Report from Out West

Boy has it been a long time since I've done anything exercise related.  But, today, I finally got outside and went for a walk.  I walked 3 miles.  Not sure of my pace, but I was not trying to break any land speed records.  I just wanted to be outside for a bit. 

Really nice evening and I'm grateful for my pretty lake that is so close by.  Now that I'm officially on the mend, we are going to be getting some weather!  Which is fine because I can just pop over to the gym.  On Monday (early morning - I think midnight to 5 am or some such) we are going to have "dangerously high" winds.  I'll be staying inside!

Not Pretty or Pleasant

But I did it! I got on the TM this morning and ran for a mile.  Just one but I felt good to get that much done.  Chest was tight and I had trouble getting a full breath by the time I quit.  Maybe it will help to break it up.  Also did 25 push ups and 25 sit ups so it's a start.  I am not giving this up!

Happy New Year

I had really hoped to be running this morning to start the new year right but had to settle for another walk.  Still coughing and afraid running would make it worse.  Slept in my recliner for 2 hours during the night so as not to keep the boss awake.  Haven't coughed much today though so I'm hopeful.  Will have to see what tomorrow brings.
