Back on Track

Or "back on tread" as the case may be.  Got on the TM this morning and ran a full 2 miles without stopping or walking.  First time since leaving SD that I have run at all.  And my legs felt it.  Kind of "rubbery" by the time I was done but I did it.  Also 25 pushups and 25 situps.  I am starting back on my 3 days on and 1 day off cycle.  I like that because it means I am exercising 6 days out of 7 but not 6 days in a row.

Gym Saturday

Yes, another Saturday gym day!  It's so weird on Saturday!  I do like Sunday better for my weekend day.  But!  I woke up this morning and just plain didn't have the energy or desire to run.  But I wanted to get something in.  And I did!

I'm pretty excited because I'm really seeing changes in my body.  I'm for sure losing fat and I'm for sure gaining muscle.  Today I thought I could actually kinda see a quad muscle in the mirror.  But, no, I did not stand there and flex to test it  out.  I'm not THAT GUY.  Yet!

I've also been able to do my bicep curls with 15 pound weights, all three sets.  I've been working on that.  Also, I've gone from body weight squats and curtsy lunges to using a 13 pound kettle bell.  So lots of progress which is really motivating.

I'm also down to 131.6 pounds, which is super exciting.  But I'm learning it is true that weight loss is 80% kitchen, 20% exercise.  Which is kinda sad!  But having more muscle mass should allow me to eat more calories because muscle burns more than fat.  I won't be able to have a lot more, but more!

I'm making a super healthy dinner tonight - partially to offset my unhealthy (but totally awesome!) dinner last night!

Oh, also, I did walk on the treadmill for 20 minutes at a 9% incline.

Catching up!

It has been SO LONG since I've posted! But I've been doing stuff. And things! I've been running and walking and going to the gym to lift weights. I've also been watching my caloric intake and I'm really seeing a difference due to that. I'm down a few pounds for the first time in a long time and that's happy! Now I'm going for a walk!

Jump Start Your Heart 5K and other things

We had a great time on Sunday at this 5K run/walk.  We all did great!! And what a beautiful course and a gorgeous morning.  Just perfect.  Like San Diego should be.  And then the wonderful desert we had afterwards and the outstanding steak dinner that night!  A perfect ending to a perfect day.

I did my 2 mile route around the cottage again this morning and have just one more day to go before we pack up and head out of this beautiful place.

Doing Stuff!

Yesterday I went to the gym and I feel super proud about it because I was worn! And today I did my hiit thing again by running a little hill. This is exceedingly challenging! I did the car pushups again, too!

Days Off

Today is my 4th day so it's a day off and I'll take tomorrow, too, as we travel to Jacumba.  I've been running the last 3 mornings.  Well, I should say "mostly running, some walking."

Good run!

I would say "great" but I have no idea how long it took me! I was using a timer and......well, it didn't work out. But I felt fast! So lets pretend that, for today only, I ran 8 minute miles. We can pretend. And dream! Glad I got out there despite the cold. I am happy to report that I didn't get hypothermia!
