As in, I am saying I'm tired but in the Southern way.
Well, you may have noticed I have not mentioned my garden in about 7 years. That's because I have been ignoring it. I think I just got so overwhelmed by the quantity of work. Obviously, ignoring a problem does not actually solve the problem. So funny how that works.
Point being, I gardened today. A lot. Actually, I weeded today. A lot. I did actually physical down in the dirt weeding and I also tilled. Here is my plan: I am going to till once a week until spring planting begins here in a month or so. My thought is that if I keep tilling, the weeds will die in the sun and will not have an opportunity to take root.
I am open to suggestions. Other then napalm. Apparently that falls outside of our organic garden guidelines. I checked.
I'm not going to kick myself too much about getting overwhelmed. It was a huge mess left to me to clean up.
That was my exercise today. Non-formal, but hard work! I wish you were here, Master Gardener. It was a beautiful day. Perfect for working outside. I really got some sun!

More Push Ups!
I had another really good run this morning. It feels good to be back in the swing of things, truth be told. Anyway, my time was not awesome (33....52 maybe?). But a good run, and strong feeling.
But the really great news is that I did 12 boy push ups today! I'm going to try and do them 3 days a week. Should really help add some definition to my arms.

Run
I had a great run this morning! I've really been working to change my attitude about exercise - because I've been crank about it. Acting like it is such a huge burden. But when I have my mind in the right place, I really enjoy it. Anyway, being all adult like is a work in progress!
My time was 33:25 this morning. So I am getting back into pre-illness times. Somewhat. I'll be happier when I'm marking approximately 32 minutes total. It will happen!
Tomorrow is my weigh in day. Once a week from now on. And I'm sticking with it. Well, except for my depressing sneak weigh in on Tuesday! But otherwise....... No matter what the scale says, I won't feel too bad. I have started to really notice a difference again in how my clothing fits. And that is what matters I suppose.

Boy Push-Ups!
Well, darn, have I turned rain shy. At least when I want my iPod with me. And, hey, I think it is fair!
It was really overcast this morning so I decided to stay in and do my Calisthenics. I like this little routine and the jumping jacks I do really get my heart rate up.
The really exciting news is that I did boy push ups! Last time I tried (which was at least two months ago!) I could not even do one! So I have been doing them girl style (on my knees). Today I did NINE boy style! Not all in a row. Three sets of three interspersed amongst my jumping jacks, squats, lunges, and crunches.
So that is my excitement!

Yep, I forgot!
I remembered at....oh, midnight that I didn't post! So this will be a compilation.
I ran both Monday and today. It has been cool out in the AM and staying in bed has sounded like a brilliant idea! But I've done it and each day I was really glad that I did.
Back on the healthy eating track. I did not do well eating wise over the weekend. I'll try to do better this weekend though.

Good Morning
Well, not so good. Very discouraged about my weight at the moment. Up 4 lbs from what I was in California! Almost back to my goal weight. Eating too much I know. So, will have to do something about that. Been for my walk and took Neil Diamond with me but iPod acted weird. Skipped a couple of songs in a playlist. Have no clue why. So, not off to the best of starts here this morning. Hope your day goes well!

Overview!
I had a really great weekend. Maybe not totally nutritionally healthy. But 100% emotionally healthy!
My 5K was great! My time was 32:39. A 5K is 3.1 miles, so I was pretty pleased with my time. Especially considering that I had to take time off my training due to illness. It was fun and I am glad I did it. Also, I was a little nervous and toyed with the idea of backing out. But I did it and I'm glad!
Then Jessica and I (she walked the 5K!) had breakfast. And what did I have, you wonder? Bacon pancakes!!! Fantastic!
Bart and I had hot pot last night and that is a pretty healthy meal, overall. The noodles, not so much I suppose. But veggies and fairly lean meat cooked in broth. What's not to love?
Today I met a girlfriend for coffee and we shared a chocolate croissant and bacon, maple syrup, cheddar cheese scone. AMAZING!!
I roasted a chicken tonight. First time ever! It turned out great!
I will be back to the eating straight and narrow tomorrow. But no matter how many extra calories I ingested, it was worth it! I had fun and I know that they were just blips and not abandonment of a healthy way of life.

Good Morning
Finally up and around here this morning! Slept until 7:30! Have been for my walk and had breakfast and now gotta work on the sermon a little. Then a wedding this afternoon and we're going to their dinner tonight in New Richmond. So a busy Saturday. Had my first hot fudge sundae in 23 months last night for my birthday! On mint chocolate chip ice cream. Haven't tasted that in 23 months either. Was very good but not going to get back into that every night. Have a good day.

Slow!
I had a really weird run this morning. Usually I walk a bit better then a block to warm up. (O/T: that distance is NOT calculated into my three miles.) Well, I leave the house and there is my un-neighborly neighbor. So I just ran right away. The good news is that it helped me realize how important that one block is to my overall run!
I am declaring the daily weigh ins a failure for now. Once I reach goal, it will make sense. But right now it is just super frustrating. I am going to try once a week (Fridays) and see how that works for me. I just don't need to have negative thoughts in the back of my head. You know. Why bother thoughts.
Glad we are both back!

Plodding along!
I had another good run today. It is funny. My time was just a little bit better (34:14) but it felt like such harder work! I am really sore so I suppose it just was plain more difficult.
I'm going to decide what to do tomorrow morning when I wake up. If I am all kinds of sore, I will probably do the Calisthenics routine. Otherwise, a run. I think I'll take Friday off so I'll be fresh and unsore for my 5K on Saturday!
Happy Birthday!

Running!
Yay! I'm back at it! Slowly, but hey. It has been awhile.
I had a good run this morning. 3 miles in 34:22. Slow pace, but I'll get back up to speed soon. Hopefully. I have that 5K on Saturday.
I really felt great to be back on the street. I'm so glad I'm feeling better.
Here is irritating news. I'm up a pound! How is that possible? Well, no matter how irritating it is I am going to keep up with my weight/date chart. So far it has encouraged me to make better food choices. Because I know I see the results the very next day on the scale!
Funny - I was actually kind of nervous about running this morning. I just didn't know how my body was going to respond, I suppose. But I'm glad I did it anyway.

I did stuff!
I've decided I'm 100%. As in, I don't actually feel 100%. But I do feel 100% tired of being sick. So I am done. As of now!
I did not run today, though. Why? Cause it was freaking cold!! And windy! And rainy! It was a fun "weather" filled day here in San Diego. So I did my Calisthenics. I imagine I'll be feeling that tomorrow. It is good to be back at it.
Even though I have not been running, I have been really watching what I eat. I am just so tired of treading water, if you know what I mean. And it is what I am eating. I've been eating all sorts of candy and just junk in general. So I am back to basics. Counting calories. I also started that weight/date chart I told you about.
Also, I'm implementing rewards! I really want a pedicure. I was going to get one this weekend, actually. And then I thought.....why don't you lose five pounds and THEN get a pedicure? So that is my current, small scale goal!
Hope you are surviving your weather!

I'm tired!
I did not exercise today, but I sure feel like I did! I went to work today and I tell ya, I did more in the first three hours of the morning then I have in the last three days! I've been going to bed at 9 the past couple of nights, and I can barely keep my eyes open now!
I'm not going to worry about exercising tomorrow of Friday. I'll consider it Saturday. I imagine my lungs will take the longest to make a comeback. They are so congested! But I'm getting there. And I hope I'm there by the 21st when I'm running a 5K with Jessica!
