-19 here this morning
This cold weather just will not go away. Bright and sunny but sooooo very cold and windy. I've had it and think it's time to get out of here for a week. Think I'll leave next Tuesday.
I did my usual again today. I wish I had more confidence about the half coming up, I see that last year I did it in 2.40. This year I'm hoping for 3.0!

I ran three miles yesterday - it was good. One of those runs that felt fast but really wasn't! Oh well!

Catch Up Again!
What the heck! I didn't post yesterday. Getting old!
I ran 3 miles yesterday.
Today I had such a great run! 5.93 miles. I really wish I had looked at my watch before I quit because I would have continued to 6. But I didn't.
I did my 5 mile route in Kensington but I added distance with hills. You know the little hills by the school on Van Dyke? I ran those 5 times on my way out and back (between Madison and Monroe).
It was a really good and fun run.
Did a few pushups and situps when I got back.

Weekend recap
I'm behind in my postings! Yesterday I did a 3 mile run. The Kensington route. And today I ran to Texas, did Texas twice, ran home. It was really good!

Yesterday and Today
Guess I forgot to post here yesterday! I was just so excited to get outside and start shoveling all that new snow!! But I did run my 3 miles and do the exercises before I went out to shovel and I did the same this morning, too. More shoveling in my future today, too, because I want to get the snow away from my office window and the big window on the other side here. Also out from in front of that door downstairs. Beautiful and sunny out there but only +8 now at 9:40 am so it's cold.

3 miles
What a difference a good night of sleep makes! I had a much better day today, in general. And I felt like running so I did! 3 miles. Slow! Oh well.
Also used my weights. I was going to do abs but I just didn't feel like it!

Back At It
I slept well last night and did my thing this morning and all went well. Wish I could force myself to do more than 3 miles on the TM but I just can't. No patience for it. So, it is what it is. 6-8 inches of snow predicted here for this afternoon and night so no prospect of getting outside for a run before coming to SD.

Did I spell that right? Anyway, I had a very restless night. Woke up at 3:15 am and don't feel that I slept at all since then. So that's my excuse. I wonder if it's too late to register for the 5K?

Mixed bag of news: Yay and Boos!
The yay is that I ran 10 miles today! They were slow miles, to be sure. But I did it. And it helps me feel like I'm physically and mentally prepared. Or at least able.
And I did a hard route. I did the Texas run twice and then finished the last 1.5 around my house. So I ran from my house, to Texas, down/up, home. Twice! That put me at 8.4 something. And, yep, I ran the entire way!
Now the not great news. My right foot hurts and, tonight, I'm having a problem with my right knee. Hopefully that will mend itself in short order. I don't know if the problem is my foot or my shoe. Probably my foot and I'm blaming my shoe.
The other SUPER frustrating thing is that, today, I weigh more than I did when I did my "I haven't weighed myself for months!" weigh in! One pound more. I could have punched....my scale. I did not run yesterday and I did go out for lunch but I was a responsible eater. So......really infuriating.

Sunday Morning Run
Pretty rare for me but I got up and did it. The thought of what we'll be doing 3 weeks from today was a powerful motivater. And it went fine as did the exercises. I gained two of the pounds back that I had lost though and I'm not happy about that. And now today your mother is going to force me to have a piece of chocolate birthday cake! That woman.

Well, dang it, I did it. It's been quite some time since I've run Texas three times, but today was the day. Very challenging. But it's done.

Cooler Run / 5 Miles
Another very hot day today. And dry. But today I waited until 4:30 to run and it was substantially more enjoyable than yesterday.
5 miles. Pretty slow. But part of me really wasn't into it, so I'm just glad it got done.
Did some situps when I got back.
I'm three pounds down so three more to go. To get back to my "normal" anyway. After three more I can go back to my chronic wishing that I could lose five more!

Too hot!
Icky run today. Only 2.5 miles. Very hot, very dry. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
My eating is really back on track and I'm super happy about it. Sadly, Cindy gave me candy for Valentine's Day. I'm ignoring it. So far!

Quick Run
2 miles today. That was all I had in me. I need to keep in mind how much I've picked up my running over the past week and not over do!

Good run / 5 miles
What a beautiful day. I had a really good run and a lot of that is due to the fact that it is just so darn nice out. Loved it.

I weighed myself again today and I weigh exactly the same as the other day. Sigh.

Done (sorta): hill report
Boy I'm having a tough time with Texas. I have to admit some of it might be desire. Maybe I need to try harder!
I made it up Texas 3 times today. Not all (much!!) running. And let's leave it at that!
A New Week
But I'm afraid it will be short one for me in the running department. I ran my 3 this morning and will do so again tomorrow and Wednesday but then we are going to the Lowell Inn in Stillwater for two nights and, guess what? They don't have a fitness room. So I'll have to be satisfied with getting in and out of the jacuzzi in our room.

I did it / 7 miles
It was slow and, at the end, really slow. But I did it. I will for sure take tomorrow off, though, because I know 3 miles to one 5 mile run to 7 miles is a crazy increase. But! It's done. And it was not miserable. And I feel pretty good.

Fate Intervenes!
OK, true story:
As you know, I have not weighed myself for months. And, as you also know, I've really developed some serious paranoia about it. I finally decided last night, "I'm doing this! First thing in the morning, it's time to get back on track!" So, full of trepidation, this morning I got up and got right on the scale. And you know what it told me?
Low battery.
And it did not have enough power to weigh me.
Yep.
I went over to Texas to run today and it did not go well! Too long of a break, I guess. I got most of the way up. Maybe a little over 3/4. And then I walked. I'll do it again tomorrow.
Did some pushups, squats, and abs when I got back.

5 miles
And not bad! About 11 minute miles. I accept this.
How long has it been since I've run more than 3 miles? I cannot even guess. Months. But I have to get a move on, for sure.
My legs were so tingly when I got back!

A Better Day
But the mystery of human weight continues. Yesterday I was so disturbed because I was up 1.2 lbs from the day before. Today I am DOWN a full 2 lbs from yesterday! Who can explain it? Certainly not me.
My run felt better this morning and so did the pushups and situps so I feel like I'm finally making a little progress here. Still no where near the shape I was in last fall before retiring but I'm going to keep at it.
Tomorrow, however, will be a day off because I have to be at the Clinic at 8 am to give blood! Annual checkup coming up.

I'm back!
Thanks for your patience! I sure did have a few days off, didn't I? But I got back out there with a really good three mile run today. It was cold. Trust.
I did some abs and pushups. Sure can tell I have not been doing that stuff!
Say, I really like my shoes. So glad we got that done. How are yours treating you?

Very Frustrated
...with my weight. I had an excellent eating day yesterday and, yet, I'm up a whole pound this morning. It makes no sense to me at all. I have gone down 3 pounds since Christmas but have a lot more to lose and can't seem to get it done. Very discouraging. Run was slow again this morning but better than yesterday.
