Another day off over here. Tomorrow might be as well. I may decide to call a redo on 26 and 27!
I am feeling a lot better, I am pleased to report. I plan on going to work tomorrow. I went to the doctor this morning and all they did was charge me 10 bucks to tell me what I already knew! Oh well. The good news is that my blood pressure is 112/71 and my pulse is 49, which I gather is really good.
Question for you: do you weigh yourself every day? I am thinking I might start doing so. I imagine on one hand it could be kind of discouraging. On the other hand, I tend to make some poor food choices (don't ask!!!). I think a daily weigh in might discourage that somewhat.
What do you think?

Good Morning
Ok, I'm back on track! Happy to be home and walked with Neil Diamond this morning. Fun to be back on my own route! I did walk 5 of the 7 days we were gone so felt good about getting it in one way or another. I gained 1.6 lbs on the trip so want to get that off. We ate way too much and usually not the right stuff! But back to my oatmeal and tomato juice this morning and tasted good.
My garden is a jungle! So, that's where I'll be this morning. And my lawn really, really needs to be mowed so will do that this afternoon. More exercise. All to the good.
Sounds like you are keeping up with your plan as you are able. Sure hope you feel better this morning. Absolutely no fun to be that sick.

Day........
All right Lambs, I'm a little lost and confused on my days. Note to self....do think (Haha! I do THINK on a daily basis I hope! Should read "do THIS") on a daily basis! Another new goal.
Friday was day 22 and I ran 3.25 miles.
Saturday was day 23 and I 100% slacked!! (it was fun!)
Sunday I ran 3.25 miles and also walked enough to make up for Saturday. Sunday was day 24.
Monday was day 25 and I had a really excellent walk at lunch with J from work. We walked for an hour and it was 3 miles. Then I got sick. Pretty sad, actually.
Today is day 26 and I sincerely doubt that I will be exercising at all today. I am home sick and I am just feeling really tired and worn. Right now I am just working on hydration. I don't even feel hungry which is good, I think.
Anyway, that's my story. I don't want to end my 30 days in a whimper! Gotta get better!
Travel well pals!

Good Morning
We have been for our walk again this morning and are now going out to the Deloach family cemetery with the clan. Except Grandma. She can't walk up there anymore. then the reunion this afternoon. Having a very nice time! Except every time I woke up last night it was 12:30 am. Guess my watch battery has died! Gotta go.

Vacation
Okay, so Uncle Steven and Auntie Marilyn are on vacation so they don't have to walk and I am on vacation so have the opportunity to walk! I have been really lucky because W walked with me at night in Champagne IL as I didn't think I should walk alone and then last night in Clintwood Marilyn walked with me to show me around a little bit, and today W and I actually walked together again! And it was good. And we went to numerous family cemetaries today and believe me when I say they are straight up the side of the mountains! But it is all good and I am glad for the opportunity to walk and the opportunity to see this area again. And the people are awesome. It is fun to be with them so I am sure that is good for my mental health!
Eating is a challange though, but I am trying to do the best I can with what we have. And there isn't much here. I hope that on Sunday night we can go to Pound or Jenkins or Norton to have dinner. Guess there is a restaraunt in one of those places but I can't remember which! In the meantime we have had the salad bar at Pizza Hut 2 nights in a row. And we did have breakfast this AM and I had gooooooood grits!
All for now. I am so tired my eyes burn! Gotta get my rest so I can be my best at the reunion tomorrow!

Day 21
I successfully made up for my vacation day yesterday.
Since I was telecommuting today, I took the opportunity to run at lunch. I did - hmmmm, dang I don't remember! I mapped it out earlier and everything! But it was 3.25 or 3.5 miles at lunch. The best thing is that it only took me 40 minutes!
After "work" today I walked over to the North Park Farmer's Market. It was not an exercise walk, just an out and about walk. But that was about an hour and I know it was 2.5 miles. I am happy to report I bought blueberries, cherries, and grapes.
So I know I made up for my slackerness yesterday! And, honestly, a day off now and then is not a bad idea!

Day 20 - Day off!
Well, I ended up taking yesterday off, exercise wise. I had a busy day at work and did not take an official lunch so I did no walking then. I was going to walk or jog after work but a friend called and wanted to get coffee. I figured that was worth a vacation day!

Freak Out!!!!!!
There is a skunk in my courtyard right now!!! It just walked right up to my OPEN sliding glass door!
I bet this does not happen in La Jolla!

Day 19
Well, shoot. Hello day 19!
I did exercise a lot today, but some of it I prefer to just consider being a part of living a more active life. Which is exciting! Soon I'll be like Dad - doing all sorts of different active things every day!
I was able to walk at lunch today. I think it was 34 minutes. I got 2.5 times around my work block so I guess that's around 1.5 miles. Then a coworker took advantage of a lull in the afternoon to get out and stretch our legs, so that was another .6ish.
I jogged a new route after work tonight. I took a back route over into Kensington. So pretty. Really nice houses and lots of trees and stuff. I even took a detour to explore our local canyon! Per walkjogrun, I believe I did about 3.5 miles. If only WJR would have let me know about all the freaking hills!!! Anyway, it was a good outing and I made a solid show! I am not positive about distance because I was not super specific on mapping my route and I took a couple of detours.
I did well on eating today, too. Nothing I did not make or buy. In other words, I did not eat the work snacks! I was really hungry by the time I got home from work tonight so I had a bowl of cereal. I am really glad I had something easy, healthy, and light. And I did not ruin my dinner!
We have been officially asked to not bring in any food to the office tomorrow because we will be in the thick of the move. I understand that they are going to bring in pizza and I bet you anything it will be from Luigis!!!! Believe you me, I will be eating TWO slices of pizza! I'll plan out a really long run for tomorrow to make up for it!
I wish you luck on the start of your journey!

Okay, after a busy day doing stuff for a lot of other people, and of course doing some stuff for myself, like washing clothes, I finally went for a walk about 4:30. I have to say that I am really stiff and sore! And it is only day 2 of 30! Oh, well, although my body doesn't feel too happy, my brain says "Yay"! Now tomorrow we start our trip and I am determinded to walk! Well, not the entire way to VA but you know--30 minutes a day!
The best part of today was dinner fixed by Angie! YUM and I did not overdo! And that is what I need to concentrate on while we are on vacation--not overdoing!

Good morning you all!
Okay, I am ready mentally to start over so we will see how it goes. Julie, your 30 mins for 30 days has encouraged me. I sometimes bite off more than I can chew! Figurativly and literally! So anyway, yesterday I did my 30 minutes. I walked up a hill a couple of times, I lunged walked a couple of times and I walked backwards a couple of times! Cornfusing? Give it a try! It is nice to have my dad here so I feel I can get out and do some walking. And I went out for supper and did okay with my food choices and had a great time with my friends! So, anyway--day one on 7/21!
Have a great day!

Day 18
Another nice day here in San Diego - pick your jaw up off the floor! I know you are stunned!
I had a good day of exercise. Just one walk around the block at lunch today. And then a jog in after work. I listened to Mika. I like him and it helps me keep a fast pace going. Nothing too exciting on my walk - no skunks! I have been doing some skunk research though and I have found out that they are really reluctant to "deploy their arsenal" if you will. They only produce and store 15 cc of stink, which is enough for 5 sprays. It takes around 10 days to restock. Point being, they will try to scare the bejeesus out of you before dousing you in stink. So my paranoia level is now about 78% rather then 10million%!
My black bean chili with pineapple salsa is delicious!!! Let me know if you want the recipe......

Good Morning
They sell some weird stuff at your farmer's market! I've never heard of some of those things. Would be fun to try some of it though. I think!
I'm not fammiliar with that website either but will have to check it out. Sounds good from the name!
Been for my walk with Rhonda V. this morning. Nice and cool morning. No wildlife on the route today though. Saw nothing. I've been looking for the bear but no luck on my part.
You are really doing well on your 30 day plan! I know you have to feel better, too. Some mornings I don't want to go but I always feel good when I'm done and am glad I did it. Like today for example! Helped Angie stain the porch yesterday afternoon after mowing my lawn so I was tired this morning. Going with her to Menards to see about a new storm/screen door and will install that if we buy one. At some point here I have to start getting ready for our trip.
Have a good day.

Day 17
How can this be day 17 of the 30 days already? Crazy! I am going to keep up my 30 minute/day commitment when this period is up, but I am contemplating a new challenge for the next 30 days. Maybe push-ups! I can tell you it WON'T be drinking less coffee!
I kind of loose ends here today because I already got my jog in this morning. I just did the 2.5+ route in the neighborhood. It was a good jog and I am glad I went!
I had a really exciting day at the farmer's market this morning! Purple beans, weird looking carrots, lemon cucumber, strange sweet bell peppers (including chocolate and some strange one he gave me "just to give it a try"), and spring onions. For fruit I picked up bing cherries (sadly, I understand that the Ranier season is over. I have totally fallen in love with the Raniers), peaches, some weird thing called dinosaur eggs (you can imagine what they look like! cross between a pluot and an apricot, I guess), blue berries, and the most exciting thing of all: FIGS!!!! My first of the season! I am really really excited. In fact, maybe I will eat one now....
By the way, are you running this website:

Day 16
I had a really good run last night. I did the 2.5+ route and it was great. I felt like it was a really strong run. And no skunks! That's a happy thing.
I had a hard day yesterday. I just kept thinking of pizza and ice cream. Specifically about eating pizza and ice cream. But I need to do better with my eating. I have opportunities to eat out so I don't have to create them when I am by myself and it is the middle of the day!

Good Morning
I don't usually walk on Sundays but I did this morning. Woke up at 6 am and got up at 6:15 when Mom did so decided to go. Very cool here this morning! Went in shorts and t shirt and I was cold until I got moving. I'm jogging about 1/4 mile now but still don't like it! How can you possibly do 4 miles? I can't imagine.
So that really was a skunk? Ick. I'd hate to find that sleeping on my porch! I'm surprised there are skunks right in town. You would think dogs would kill them off.

Day 15
I did not forget to post yesterday - I was just tired so I didn't do it!
I had a really good walk around the block yesterday at lunch. I make sure to keep track of the time so I know it was 35 minutes. It was a nice day out yesterday, so pretty enjoyable.
After work I jogged. I did almost four miles last night! It was 3.9ish. I was doing my "usual" and just decided to keep going! It was tough and it was really good exercise. I do not think I will do that distance again today, however!

I forgot!
I can't believe I forgot this! Seriously, Normal Heights should be renamed skunkville! I was on my jog tonight and I was going by a house when I caught a wiff of skunk. And I looked over and, on the step, someone had a bowl of what I presume was cat food and water. Napping in the sun - right on the step - was a skunk!! All black and I could see the white back. Just all curled up and taking a snooze! I looked around (stared, gaped, gawked!) for a couple of minutes and the skunk must have heard me and decided to take a peek. Suddenly I was looking at the prettiest cat face I have ever seen! Very cute. I'll be darned.
Be careful out there!
Be careful out there!
Day 14
Well, boy howdy did walkjogrun.net get a face lift! Check it out - I think you will like what you see! It is fun!
I had a solid day of exercise, which is good because I had a solid day of eating! I walked for 30 minutes at lunch today - the distance was over a mile I think. Maybe 1.29 or something (OK, I admit. I went to wjr and did the distance!). Then I did a quick jog after work. That was 1.63 miles. Then I walked to meet my pals for dinner. That distance was .7 of a mile. And, finally, I walked home from K's house. That distance was .55 of a mile. So that gives me a grand total of almost 4 miles. It was a Frankenstein day of walking, but I got it it!

Good Morning
Walked with the oldies again this morning. Didn't really want to go today but did. I have to lose these 2 pounds I've picked up over the weekend and since then. Eating too much for supper I think. Enough of that! Cloudy now and the pictures on tv show rain coming right at us so don't know about the staining today either. Not going to just sit around today though. Will find something to do.

Day 13
Holy smokes! I cannot believe I am already on day 13. I made this easy little goal for myself and I've stuck with it and lookie here! It is almost 1/2 way over. Neat.
Today my exercise was walking around the block. I walked for 23 minutes at lunch and then I made the rest of my 30 minutes after I got home from WFS tonight. Just another walk around the block at home.
I will admit to eating a gigantic chocolate chip cookie today.....the ENTIRE thing! But I did not want to hurt the feelings of the person who bought it for me! The fact that it was 100% delicious and I really really wanted to eat it upon presentation had nothing to do with it!
PS - it appears I am down a jean size!!! Well, sort of. A little tight but wearable. I just have to keep it up!

Good Morning
I slept until 7:30 this morning! Way late for me. And walked inside on the treadmill because it is raining some. Showers off and on. I don't mind getting wet but didn't want my iPod to get wet! So walked inside today. We had planned to start staining the neighbor's house today but don't think we'll get started because of the rain. Not sure what I'll do today then. Have a bunch of pictures here to write on and get into the album so might do that. We need every drop of this rain so I'm not unhappy about getting it. If we weren't grandmasitting here I'd invite my date to go see Hancock this afternoon. Well, I'll think of something. Have a good day!

Day 12
I did not jog today buy I fully surpassed my goal of moving about for 30 minutes! I've been tired the last couple of days and just did not feel like working all that hard after work.
I walked for exactly 24 minutes during my lunch break, which was nice. One walk around the block was with a Somali woman who was also walking during lunch. Which was.....weird. Anyway, 24 minutes!
After work I came home and went for a walk around the neighborhood and was out for about 1.5 hours. Just seeing what there was to see.
So, nothing too earth shattering or heart pounding. But it was really nice!

Good Morning
I am way behind here! Just read all your notes from the weekend. Yes, it is wonderful when someone else notices that you're losing some weight! It inspires you to keep going. And you're doing such a great job of the jogging/walking every day. Consistency is the key I think.
I have to say that your bean soup recipe sounds a little weird! Was it good? We punted when we got home here last night. I opened a can of LaChoy Chow Mein and fixed some rice for Grandma and me. Mom had a sandwich.
I gained 1.4 pounds over the weekend! That Amy! She forced me at gun point to eat home made ice cream, mac and cheese, and pizza! So, I'm back on the wagon today. Still below my goal weight by 3 pounds but now up 1.4 from my lowest weight which I want to get back to.
I walked yesterday morning over there but got lost in the new neighborhood! Took one wrong turn and walked an extra 16 minutes to get back home! So I walked every day but Sunday which is always my day off from that.
I walked this morning here listening to the oldies. Gorgeous morning but going to be 93 this afternoon they say.
Hoping you have a good day!

Day 11
Well, I had a nice thing happen today. One of my coworkers asked me if I was losing weight! I know it is noticeable to me but it is cool that it is noticeable to others as well! Even nicer since my weigh in the other night, if you know what I'm sayin!
I got a lot of exercise in today. Some of it was heart pumping, some was just a mosey around the block. But I walked for about 25 minutes at lunch - while talking to Amy! And then I came home and went for a jog - that 2.6+ route I do - and then I did some cool off walking. So I was out and about for an hour or so tonight after work. It was nice - a beautiful day.
Tonight I am having a fun Farmer's Market dinner. Sauteed baby beets and turnips, caramelized sweet onion, and some of those lemony greens I told you about. I think dessert will be some of those ranier cherries that I totally have fallen in love with! If you asked me just two months ago I would have told you that I don't like cherries!
Anyway, a good day.

Day 10
I really had to fight the slack yesterday! I just felt non-energetic. But I did get out. I jogged for about 25 minutes and then walked for 30 or 45. Done!

Day 9
I neglected to post yesterday, but I did not neglect to exercise!
I went out and about around 5 yesterday and came back around 6:45. I did some jogging for, oh, 35 or 40 minutes, and then just walked around my neighborhood. Even found a little park I had no idea existed! It was pretty funny/cute - it abuts a canyon and is nestled between two houses. It is tiny! Made me chuckle anyway.
Today I went to the farmer's market, but I got a later start then I like. It gets so busy, I really prefer to get there earlier. Also, my strawberry guy was sold out by the time I showed up!! So, I had to procure them elsewhere. Oh, the burdens of life. How do I manage?? Anyway, I am most excited about two new greens I picked up. I have mustard greens which should make my veggie pita lunches extraordinary next week. And then I got something called sorrel which has a delicious lemony flavor. Sadly I cannot find an image that looks like my purchase! But that's what they told me it was anyway.
I am making some navy bean soup right now. It will be my go to meal for the week. It has navy beans, obviously, and peppers (they were about to die so I did not want to eat them raw), carrots, celery, and onion. When it is done it will also feature tomato sauce (hm...maybe!) and beet greens. Should be good. It for sure is healthy!
I weighed myself last night which is good AND bad. Bad because it makes me sad! Good because I tend to lie to myself about things I don't want to face. I'll keep going with eating healthy and exercising and I won't have to feel bad about it any longer!
Good Morning
You're doing great on your 30 day plan! Congratulations!
I walked around the neighborhood here this morning. Very nice area. Was out by 6:45. I was the first one up around here so had my devotions and then got out of the house. didn't know how to make coffee though! Had it when I got back and Amy was up to make it for me.
Huge thunder storms came through at 2 am! Woke us adults up but all 3 boys slept right through it. Very loud so I couldn't believe they didn't wake up. Lots and lots of rain, too. They figure about 2 inches.
I froze 5 bags of brocolli yesterday morning before we left and brought a gallon bag full here to eat sometime.
We're going to some kind of little neighborhood parade this morning. then Amy has a couple of jobs for me to do. Maybe go to a train museum this afternoon but we'll see how the time goes. haven't talked to Mom yet so wondering how her night went at the motel with Grandma V. She made the trip fine but was so tired last night! Hope they both slept ok.
Carol is coming today and will spend the night with Grandma tonight. Mom and I have a reservation at the Howard Johnsons and will have the Waelchli's and Joshua over for a swimming party.
Gotta go.

8 and doin great!
Haha. Yeah, I'm funny!
But I can't believe I'm already on day 8 of my 30 day plan! Kind of neat how so much gets accomplished in just a short amount of time.
I had a great exercise day today. I walked around the block during lunch today, so that was 30 minutes of moving around in the middle of the day. Which is so nice because I spend so much time sitting! Then I jogged tonight. I was out for about 40 minutes. My jogging was great because I am feeling so much stronger.
It is 11 here and I am really tired! I think I will call it a night and begin again tomorrow. There is a WFS meeting tomorrow at 10 (well, every Saturday at 10) and I want to attend. But it all depends on my sleeping in!
Have fun on your mini vacation and don't work too hard! I will be thinking of you!

Good Morning
Is the farmer's market open every day? I thought it was only on Sundays. You lucky bird! I bought us 4 ears of corn at Marketplace the other day and it was good.
Been for my walk but then went to the garden and found 6 heads of brocolli I have to deal with before we can leave here. Grandma V is up and dressed and ready to go! Now, she'll be waiting for me! Not the way I envisioned it. But gotta deal with it or it goes to waste. Hoping to leave here by 11:00.
I jog a little during my walk. Quarter mile or so. Just to get my heart going. But I don't like to jog! Good for you though. I won't race you. Catch up with you from De Pere.

Day 7 - Caught up!
What a beautiful day today! I got a later start then usual, exercise wise. But the cool thing is that I got to watch the gigantic orange sun set while I was jogging!
I did a poor job timing myself, but I know my jog met my 30 minute goal for the day. The fantastic thing is that it is becoming so much less painful. It is still somewhat difficult to get myself out there and going. But the huffing and puffing part is better!
Also, I really feel like I am losing some thickness in my lower belly, which makes me happy.
The actual exciting news around here is that I went over to the Farmer's Market tonight and picked up some sweet corn. I'm going to have two ears for dinner tonight. Can't wait! Cherries for dessert. It's not ice cream but that is a-ok with me!

Day 6 - Catching up!
I've had a busy week and so now I am playing blogger catch-up! Yesterday was day 6 of my 30 minutes for 30 days. I did walk for 20 or 25 minutes at lunch. But that was all! Yes, that was it!
Today at lunch I caught up and walked for about 20 minutes again.
Beautiful day! And I am so glad we have started this official lunch thing. It was just too overwhelming. I was about to snap!

Day 5
I may have slacked on blogging but I did not slack on exercising! Yesterday was a successful day five. I did a jog - 2.5ish miles and I was out and about for 35 minutes!
Another Day
Cooled off over night. Very nice sleeping weather with all the windows wide open. Still woke up at 6 am though. But I didn't get up until 7:00. Went for my walk with Neil again this morning. I'm very stiff and sore from all that work Monday and yesterday! But it's done. Big job today is mowing the lawn after lunch. Paying bills this morning. Ugh.

Day 4 - Letter of the law!
I've not been feeling real spicy for the last couple of days, so I took it pretty easy today. At lunch I walked for exactly 23 minutes and then after work I walked around my block here at home for 14 minutes. So I surpassed my goal of 30 minutes. But I really took it easy. No serious heart pumping. But it sure was nice to be outside.
Good Morning
Pretty much told you everything in email note. GV is going with us to De Pere. They are staying in a hotel. Mom, GV, and Carol is coming there, too. I get to sleep on the floor at Waelchli's. Very exciting. been for my walk but had to force myself to go this morning. First day of vacation and I intended to sleep in. Woke up at 5:45 and finally got up at 6:30. That better not become a pattern of I'll go back to work.

Day 3 - Whew!!
I had a small goal today. Just walk for 30 minutes. And I far surpassed my goal!
I ended up jogging 1.25/walking 1.5/jogging 1.25. So, four miles in 55 minutes. I did not walk super fast. Nor did I jog super fast, truth be told. But I did it and it felt really good.
It was a beautiful day. Not too hot. And I listened to my OTHER Jars of Clay CD.
I had a very successful mission to the Farmer's Market this morning. Greens, a cucumber, two little melons (no idea what variety!), carrots, strawberries, Ranier cherries, radishes (watermelon radishes - supposed to be spicy!!), and green peppers. I'm set for the week. I have some leftover broccoli, turnips, and wax beans from last week.

Day 2
I just got back from a beautiful bike ride! I was out and about for around 40 minutes. It was no drastic race to the finish but I was sweaty, no question about that. It was nice to get out and explore the neighborhood, see the monastery, view the canyons. It actually reminded me that I like California!
Even though this was not a heart seriously pumping exercise day, I think it is still good to work some different muscles.
I listened to nothing because I am terrified of getting smooched by a car while riding my bike!

Good Morning
Walked with the Beatles this morning but had a late start. Slept until 7:30! Another gorgeous day but we really need some rain. I watered the garden and flower beds again yesterday so they are looking good but the lawn is getting crispy.
I'm up 8/10's since yesterday morning! No more home made ice cream for me! I didn't eat that much of it though and didn't eat that much dinner either so was surprised I was up that much. But it goes up and down all the time. As long as I can stay below my goal weight I'm happy. Don't want to lose any more because I am not buying another wardrobe any time soon!
Hope you have a good day!

Day One: Success
I put in my 30 minutes - 35 minutes, actually. Which is neat because I jogged about 2.6 miles, so that's not too terrible of a time. The really neat this was that it actually felt kinda......good! It is amazing how the body is willing to respond.
I sure am glad that I went early this morning. Well, at 9 am - early for some! It was already getting toasty and I think it would have been too hot if I waited much longer.
I listened to the Jars of Clay today. Today is going to be a really fun day of music on WCPE, by the way! Tune in if you can - www.wcpe.org - here is a link to today's playlist:

Happy 4th of July!!! I hope you have fun with that full house!

Good Morning
The house is full and the fun has begun! The Waelchli's arrived about 5:00 yesterday. They had a good time in Duluth. And we're all looking foward to a fun day here today.
Weather is gorgeous. Going to be 85 and sunny all day. Was about 65 when I walked this morning. Walked down along 140th and I noticed a smell. Terrible. Finally came upon a whole pile of carp someone had dumped on the side of the road! Those lake people! Yuk. I walked faster but then had to come back and then I ran.
Hey I am officially down exactly 45 pounds from my high today! 4 lbs below my goal! Wooowhooo! Will probably put some of it back on today though!
Wish you were here.

Julie's Challenge
I have been really struggling with motivation in regards to this exercise thing. Well, actually, regarding a lot of different things. But I have thought of a doable goal/challenge for myself. I have been thinking of it for the last couple of days, and am officially starting it tomorrow.
For the next 30 days I WILL exercise for 30 minutes every day. It could be a bike ride, or maybe jogging, it may be a "health walk" (that means speedy!), it might just be a thirty minute mosey while I am talking on the phone. But I am going to get moving for 30 minutes every day.
See? Doable. Easy even!
So the basic rule is 30 minutes every day. That said, I can skip a day. If I do, I need to make it up the next day (or over the course of the next couple of days). I cannot, however, "pay it forward". If I walk for 40 minutes on Monday that does not mean I can jog for 20 minutes on Tuesday. In addition, if I skip Friday I cannot add up all the extra 10 or 15 minutes from the preceding week and apply that to Friday's exercise. The time must be made up after the fact. Otherwise I am cheating.
I was thinking that I come up with these gigantic "I'm gonna" plans and maybe it is just too big a bite of the apple to chew. Maybe that is why I get overwhelmed and just stop.

Jogging
Holy smokes! It is as though every car in the state of California was out on the road today! And driving like idiots! I was pretty darn careful as I made my way this afternoon. No need to get squished just when I am jogging again!
I did a little route by my house and jogged the entire way. Walk/Jog/Run tells me it was 2.76 miles. Now, this was no run mind you. It was a slow jog. But it was tough and it was work....and I did it!
In addition, I took a walk around my block at work during lunch today which clocks in at a little over half a mile. Not a health walk - unless you count mental health!
Today was pretty dreary all day. Very overcast and pretty cool. Until I left work, that is! Blue sky and the sun was shining! I stopped at the Farmer's Market and picked up some strawberries and some cherries.
Dinner tonight features steamed carrots and broccoli. I have some red pepper hummus hiding out around here too. Oh, and strawberries and cherries of course!
Hope you had a great day!

Another day
Well, I had another day where I felt unmotivated but I did it anyway. I guess that is how a new lifestyle starts! Why isn't it super easy??? <>
I brought my workout duds to work today and after work I walked around the block. It is a good walk - .63 miles and has some solid hillness to the journey. I did four rounds, so that is just under 2.5 miles. I jogged three sides and then walked up the fourth side (the hill). So, I did it!
I ate healthy all day today - I'm excited for dinner tonight. Baby beets and turnips! Yum!

Back on the exercise wagon!
I have been so stressed and crabby over the past week. And my exercise has suffered for it over the weekend. I guess I was too busy pouting to do something good for myself!
I really felt like coming home and sitting around again tonight, but I didn't! Well, that's a lie - I am currently at home and sitting around. But I got some exercise in first!
I actually jogged 2.5 miles today! It was slow, but I jogged the entire way. Actually, I did not even bother timing it so I am not sure how long it took. I listened to the 2007 Cities 97 CD when I was out and about. It was pretty warm but I was freezing all day at work so it actually felt good!

Good Morning
The Beach Boys accompanied me this morning and I wish they all could be California girls! Er, I mean Wisconsin girls. Going to be 90 today! Ick. I'll stay in the office as much as I can. Might have to do some watering again tonight. No rain since Friday now so everything could use a drink. Garden is looking good! Have a good day!
