Goodbye 2009!

This is our last post of 2009! I can't even believe it! We have done really well with our dedication to exercise, health, and blogging!

Well, in 2009 I lost 25 pounds. I went from not being able to do one single pushup to being able to do 40. I went from "running" a 13 or 14 minute mile to running a 10 minute mile. I ran in three 5k runs. I have three 2009 5k t-shirts....but only one favorite! Pretty big year for me in the health department I would say.

I'm sure happy to leave 2009 behind though. It's been a good, but difficult, year.

Well, today I ran even though I was sore! I had a really good one, too. I ran 3 miles in 28:30. I kept running until 33 minutes though. I also calibrated my iPod so I ran another half mile at 6.0 while doing that. So, solid run.

No other exercise today though. Making it through my run took all my dedication for the day!

I can't wait for my first run of 2010!

I'm Old!

And boy can I feel that I did something different today! Ouch.

I ran 3.5 miles today. 3 miles at the 28:30 point and 3:17 at 30 minutes. Then I ran to 3.5ish slowing down. I did the last 10 minutes at 6.5 again today. I did the entire thing at a 1% incline.

And then the real fun started! We did a circuit training plan of hers. After each machine we ran 5 minutes. We started at 6.0 and ended at 6.7. So I bet I ran another .5 mile during that business.

I clearly have a lot of work to do on my abs.

It was fun - but I'm really sore!

Yep....

Did it again! I did have a good run this morning. I took it kind of easy. 1% incline and, for the first 20 minutes, I ran at 6.1. I finished the last 30 minutes up at 6.5. I ended up running 3 miles in 29ish minutes and I was at 3.11 at my 30 minute mark. So that was pretty good!

Then I did pushpus and abs. Remind me to show you my flutter kicks before I leave. Then you can torture yourself in a whole new way!!

Runnin Fool!

Only cause I couldn't think of another name for my post!

Good run this morning. Three miles, 1% incline. I think my time was around 29:30, but I don't remember exactly.

I did the bands again today and I'm already hurting!! I really like those. I'll have bulging muscles soon!

Ok, I'm back in gear this morning. Did the 30 minute run and the exercises. Seemed like work today after 3 days off! Gotta keep at it every day and I will!

My Christmas gift to myself......

I did NOT weigh myself this morning!!

I had a delightful morning. Slept in until 9! And then I hung out and drank coffee. I ran this morning and I listened to the Downhere CD. I LOVE it! In fact, I didn't want to get off the treadmill until it was done! So I ended up running 4 miles. My time was 38:38! And my 3 mile time was 29:19, if I remember correctly. Which I may not.......

Then I did the resistance bands! I'll be honest - my shoulders feel like raw meat now! I really think these will work great! Thank you so much for them!!

I also used my new ear phones this morning and they are amazing! They stayed in the entire run - nice and snug. I didn't have to fiddle with them at all. I don't know what to do with my hands now!

Snow!

I had a good run this am, but I took it a bit easy. I am really sore and kind of flopped about last night. I think I just pushed it really hard the last couple of days!

Anyway, ran three miles in 29:28. Just a 1% incline today. My stopped heart rate was 164. I burned 10 million cookie calories!

I'm so excited about this beautiful snow! And that I'm not shoveling it!!!

Great One!

Merry Christmas Eve morning! Well, it will be when you read this post! I'm excited and I'm excited to be here!

I had a great run this morning. Partially, that is because I really didn't want to do it but I did it anyway. It feels good to overcome those thoughts.

Because I did such a long run yesterday, I stuck to three miles today. I did a 1.5% incline today, though, and it really made me work! Three miles at the 29:30-ish mark.

I did pushups and abs after. Full morning!

Wow!

Boy, did I run today! I made a new playlist and decided I would run for all of it. Turned out to be 4.44 miles of music!

I hit three miles at 29:19 and 4 miles at 38:21. Pretty good times. 1% incline today.

BEWARE!!! The treadmill is set to 0 incline. I was going to put it back to 2% but Mom was watching me! It was like she KNEW!

OY! My Bum!!

Whoo boy does my rear hurt!! I ran on the treadmill today at a 1% incline. You would think I have never run a step in my life! Ouch!

Because I was on the treadmill, I could really judge how hard I was working, so that was great. For the last five minutes I ran at 6.4!

I did run over three miles in 30 minutes today! I was a sweaty mess.

I skipped pushups because my arms are SORE!

I did run today and it was great! I slept in and when I left for a run it was just beautiful out! Course I ran with my new toys! iPod Nano and the Nike+ tool! So it tracks and calculates and talks and uploads! Super cool!

You are right.....

And I know that does not come as a surprise! But the key is dedication and perseverance. And I think we have both proved that we are in it for the long haul. It is easy to beat myself up but, actually, I need to give myself credit for all the hard work I'm doing! Self pep-talk done!

I did run today and it was good. I'm glad I was out there. Abs after. And hills at lunch!

And I did my 3 in under 30!! 29:48!

Christmas Goals

I've been meaning to tell you that I did NOT lose five extra pounds! But I do have goal for Christmas.

Goal 1: Run every day with two days off. I do not know which two days I'll take off, but I do want to make sure I run and do not slack!

Goal 2: Weigh in every day and make sure I'm staying in my 130 range.

Goal 3: NO eating cookies alone! I tend to do this....do I think the calories do not count if nobody sees?!?!

30:09!

Man! I'm having a tough time with my time! And I had, yet again, a tough time getting up and getting out. But I did it. I did snooze this am but was up at 5:10 or so. And I was even late running! I have those finals Saturday and I have a project due. And I've been studying. Got totally sucked in this morning and, before I knew it, it was 7!

But the run was accomplished and the pushups were done. Errands at lunch so no hills.

Hard...but done!

Not the running part. The getting up part. It has just been so difficult. Today I got up at 5:10 though. So, I am inching closer to my get up time.

Good run this am - still over 30 but it was 30:04 so getting there. Then ab stuff. And I'm up a pound! Sigh. No hills at lunch. I had a follow up with the beta blocker doctor - which was totally fine.

So, that was my day! Home from school at 9:45. Early so that is great!

Brrr!

Actually, I think it is warming up a bit! Still too cold for this tenderfoot!

I had such a hard time getting up today. In fact, I snoozed until 5:20. Honestly, I think it is just work dread. I cannot wait for time off.

Pretty good run this AM - slow, though. I really need to get back up to speed. Then I did pushups. Not all crazy style like you!

Also ran hills today at lunch. Maybe I'm getting back on track.

Good Morning

The tree is beautiful! A very nice one.

I set the incline to 1.5 this morning and I could feel that! Not sure what those numbers means and suppose I could find out in the manual if I looked. Anyway, kept telling myself it was good for me but I could sure feel it after 30 minutes. Also did the pushups and situps and added 10 more pushups at the end of the routine so will see how that goes this week.

Good Morning

Slept in until 7:30 today and that was very nice. Then I did the running with our friend, Mr. Diamond, and the pushups and situps. All went well and feeling good. Putting up our tree today. Everything else is out and up except that. Hope you're having fun at school!

Not a wash out!

I was kind of hoping for a rain out today. I didn't sleep well last night and I could have used some extra zzzzzzzz's except, well, I couldn't sleep! So I did get up at 5 and, shockingly, the weather folk were wrong! It wasn't raining. Actually, it looked like it rained in the night. So I did run (slowly!) and it was good.

Then pushups.

Then I did get rained on at lunch! I did hills even thought it was raining. I just really really needed out of the office.

Tomorrow I have school at 8 so I won't run in the morning because I really need to study. Perhaps in the afternoon though. See what kind of time I have. I am so behind on Christmas things I need to get some of that done!

Another day!

Well, I did run today although I didn't think that was going to happen! My alarm went off and I just snoozed like crazy. Didn't get up till 6. And then, at 7, I decided that I would go for a run anyway. Why not, even if it is a bit later. So I did! 30 on the dot! And then I did abs. Not running at lunch though.

Back to it

I've really been feeling not good (happy) and because of this I didn't run yesterday. And I didn't do homework! I read!! I just didn't have it in me.

Today I almost didn't get up. In fact, after my alarm went off I reset it till 7! And then I thought "Oh, my poor coffee....I'll just get up and drink it....." and I did. And then I thought "Oh, what the heck! I'll run!", so I did. And then I did pushups.

And I even ran hills at lunch. And I do feel a little better. Less hated by the world. See....exercise is good!

Sure is getting lonely around here! Did my running again this morning with the rock and roll oldies and then the pushups and situps. Went well this morning. Snow day here so not going to work! Hurray!

Yep!

Another slow one today! I really think it is because I've not been hitting the hills.

ABBA and I tried our best not to freeze this morning. It was SO very cold! So very cold. I checked myself for frostbite when I got home. BRRRR! Then I did pushups when I got home. Didn't want to but I did em. And then I did hills at lunch. Back to that!

Another one down.....

Another day that is! I tell you, I'm really excited for a break. I had another late night last night. Worked late so I ate late so I went to bed late so I got up at......5! Yep, gotta keep those habits!

Good run this morning but another slow one. I wonder if it is because I have not been able to run hills for the last week or so. I did yesterday, but I needed to do homework at lunch today so I didn't do hills today.

Anyway, I did run. And it was such a beautiful morning and the sun was so pretty as it was rising. And then I did my abs stuff! And then I forgot to weigh myself. And then I ate three pieces of bread by cramming them in my mouth because I was SO hungry!

So there!

Sore!

Well, I sure can tell I've not run hills for some time. I can really feel it tonight!

I didn't want to, but I got up this morning and ran. Didn't want to just because I was really tired. It is hard for me to go to bed right after school. Just takes some time to chill out!

Slow run this morning, but I've noticed that on my after school days. Then pushpus. Then hills at lunch. I only did 5 hills, not 7. I didn't want to break myself on my first day back!

When I do ab stuff, I do crunches and then I do the "bicycle". Here is an example (not of me!!):

And then I do flutter kicks. And then I do the plank. Seems to be helping!

29:59! Just made it! But I did it. Whew! I did abs when I got home.

I didn't get to do hills at lunch. Why? Cause I was working. Sigh.
