Friday's Report

I did it again and it's still hard work.  wonder how long it will take to feel like I'm at my pre-retirement level.  I'm starting to feel this cold in my chest this morning.  NOT GOOD!!  Did some coughing while on the TM but not bad.  Yet.  Taking Zicam.  Drinking liquids.  Anyway, did my 3 miles and the pushups and situps.

Good run! / 3 miles

We're having some dreary weather here.  For me, it's fun!  Not like your dreary weather.  I'm thinking it is going to rain!

Anyway, I had a good run today.  3 miles.  Slow.  But I've come to grips with that.  I feel like my days of 10 minute miles are behind me!

I was a healthy eater today, I'm really happy to report!

Good Morning

Snowing like mad out there this morning so I see more shoveling in my future later this afternoon.  So I got on the TM this morning and did the 3 miles but it's still not going well.  How long will it take me to feel like I'm back in running shape I wonder?  I've been slacking off ever since I retired but trying to get back on track now this week.  So far, so good.  Still hoping this cold doesn't catch up with me.  I feel like it's toying with me though.  Also did my pushups and situps.

Texas: one run, one walk

Well, I sure can tell I have not run Texas in some time!  I did make it all the way up once while running.  The second time I just walked it.  And I knew I was going to before I went down the hill again.  But I figured walking once is better than just being done!

I'm super hungry today.  It's very frustrating.

Slow But Got It Done

Got up and got on the machine this morning.  Slow but I did get it done.  Also back at the pushups and situps.  They went better than the run.  Feel like I might be getting a cold and really, really hoping I'm not.  Taking Cold Eze.

Weird Morning! / 3 miles

My run started spooky!  So much fog!  But as soon as I crossed the bridge, it was sunny days!

Pretty good run and a much better time than I've been having lately.  32 something.

I'm going to bed soon because I really want to SNACK!

I have something to report!

I went for a 3 mile run OUTSIDE this morning down through Kensington.  Beautiful.  It was a slow run but it was great to be outside doing it.  Thanks for living here Julie!

Good day

I've really been struggling with my food choices here.  Today I did a good job.  WHEW.  And now Bart is on his way and we're going to this vegetarian restaurant we really like.  Lots of veggies!

Took me a long time to work up the nerve to run!  But I did it finally around 3:30.  Can't wait to get some humidity over here!

Better Today

I just need to keep at it.  I still walked 1 minute in the middle of the 3 mile run but felt stronger and wasn't as winded when I was done as I have been all week.  So, it's coming back.  I just need to keep going.  And weight is down 1/2 pound this morning in spite of the delicious pan fried walleye I had last night at the Dalles House.  So I need to keep at the no snacking business, too.

Pretty good run today.  Got out there before it was 85.  It was 10% humidity though.  I really don't like that!  Yeah, whine.

He's back! / 3 miles

Remember that homeless guy that used to hang out on the bridge over the 15?  I saw him there every day for a year (seemed like!).  The - poof! - he was gone.  It must be 6 months now.  And guess who is back?  Saw him today.  Weird!

3 miles.  Not enjoyable.  It's very dry and hot here with these Santa Ana's.  But it's done.

And my head feels a lot better!

Still Work

No kidding, I feel like I've been off the TM for a month or more.  Can't believe how hard it is to get back into this.  But I did 3 miles again today and only walked for 1 minute in the middle of it.  And my weight is down a pound this morning but probably an anomaly.  (Is that the right word and spelling?)  Anyway, we'll see.  I did skip breakfast yesterday but then by noon I was dying and very shaky so I did have a bowl of chicken noddle soup - 200 calories - and an orange.  I just really, really have to stay away from the snacks. So please don't bake any cookies for next week!

I did something!

We are really having some crazy Santa Ana's here.  Windy.

I did run today, 3 miles.  3 very slow miles.  I'm still pretty tired and not quite right!  But I'm ignoring it now.

Hard Work

Holy crap this is hard work to get back on track.  I did run 3 miles today but walked for 2 minutes in the middle.  I know it's partly not doing anything for 2 weeks and partly this extra weight I'm carrying around. And speaking of weight I was up another .6 this morning from yesterday!!!  And I don't know how in the hell that happened.  I thought I did very well yesterday.  I did have a snack at bedtime but that was it all day.  I'm fasting until supper time today.  Might have a banana at some point and will have an orange for lunch.  Otherwise, I'M NOT EATING!!  Mom says it won't help me but I'm not eating anyway.

I'm back....sort of

Good for you for keeping at it!!!

I got on the TM this morning but could only do 2.5 miles. Just wore me out to get that far and had to quit. Then I did 50 pushups and 50 situps and that nearly killed me, too!  But it's a start. Then I got on the scale and that did kill me!! Holy crap. That damn Nancy and all that food! It's all her fault. I have one hell of a lot of work to do here.

Consolidated Update

I have two days of posting to do!  Yesterday, Friday, I had a pretty big day.  Remember when I used to run hills at work?  Well, I did that.  It was fun.  And I also ran three miles when I got home from work.

Today I ran from my house to Texas St, down then up once, then home.  It was 4.34 (I think) miles.  It was a good run - challenging with the big hill in there.

Probably a day off tomorrow.  I'm worn!

Some days I win.  Some days Texas wins.  Today Texas came out ahead.  But not for long!  I just did it one time.  I figure that's not half bad considering that I haven't been on that hill for over three weeks!

I didn't run yesterday because I was just too tired.  I went to bed around 2:40 and got up at 7, so I did not have it in me.  But I got a lot of good sleep last night and I did run today!  It was [REDACTED for compassion] out today!

New Year, New Start

I started the new year off right with a 3 mile run on the TM and 50 pushups and 50 situps.  Almost walked instead of running but decided I needed to start the new year off right.  Hoping for a good running year for us both.  I'm also hoping to lose these extra pounds I'm carrying around!  The peanut butter and chocolate cookies are gone so that should help.
