Did it! / 3 miles

What a crazy busy day!  I was going to run earlier and just got so wrapped up with work that I didn't do it till maybe 4.  But I did it and that's what counts.  It was a little slower because I listened to my audio book rather than pace music.  Oh well!

Did 2 sets of 12 pushups and I also did situps.

Did It Again

But, wow, it's really seeming like work this week!  Can't take two weeks off without paying for your sins!  I did the 3 on the TM and the 50 reps of each exercise.  46 here this morning and if it hadn't been so foggy I might have run outside.  Extremely foggy here though.  Can't see a hundred yards.

Good Run

Did another 3 on the TM and my 50 pushups and situps.  All went well but it seems like work still after basically taking 2 weeks off.  Got it all done though.  Weight down 4/10's of a lb this morning.  Thought it would be more but glad for that.  Mission continues!  NO SNACKING!

Run / 3 miles

We have been having such a nice storm!  I actually thought I would get rained out of my run today.  Rainy and I even heard thunder this morning.  Well....I think I heard thunder!  But it was a weird mix of clouds, sun, clouds, sun.  So I got my run in during a sunny bit and called it good.

Also did 12 pushups.  Meant to do 24 but I totally forgot the other set!

On A Mission Now

I did run 3.05 miles this morning on the TM and did 50 pushups and 50 situps.  Felt like I hadn't run or done anything for 2 months instead of only 2 weeks.  I plan to do 50's of the pushups and situps this week and get back to 75's next week.  The 3 miles though felt like twice that.  But I am back on track and back in gear.

Good thing, too, because I am up 4.4 lbs since I ran the Whistlestop!  Ouch!  That's not going to last!  We ate way too much in Branson and now we'll pay for it.  Mom isn't as bad off as I am though.  Think she only gained 1.5 lbs.

I have something to report!

We arrived here in Ames, Iowa after 8 hours in the car and I went for a quick 2 mile run up and down the road at the motel.  Nice and level, good shoulder to run on, about 60 degrees.  Very nice.  Felt good.  No fitness center here so thought I better do something tonight  because it will be too cold in the morning.  Home tomorrow night and then no more excuses!

Back in gear / 3 miles

I went to bed at 8:15 last night.  Actually, I went to bed at 8 and was sleeping by 8:15!  And I slept hard until 5.  Flopped around till 5:30.

So great sleep!

And I did run 3 miles today.  My pace was my best "free" pace (non-treadmill) in a long time.  And I'm sure it's from just those couple days on the treadmill.

Also did two sets of 12 pushups.  So I'm doing some more!  And some squats and ab stuff.

I don't know how I didn't gain weight on vacation, but I guess I didn't!

Happy Retirement Day!

What a day and what a celebration!  We didn't run today but I think we sure expended a lot of energy. Probably more than we would on a 3 mile run!

A hill!

Today I made my own hill at the Wayne Deloach Boutique Gym. I put the incline to 5 and the speed to 4. It took me 15 minutes to get to a mile. Then I called it good!

Did push-ups and squats today, too.

Yay Treadmill!! / 3 miles

It was 38 degrees when I woke up today.  And I woke up during actual daytime!  In a non-winter month!

So I'm so glad for your treadmill.  I did three excellent miles.  I set it to 6.2 and a .5% incline (down from your impressive 1.5!).

I was very hot and sweaty when I was done.

I borrowed your weights and also your floor (for abs).

Up and Running

Yes, I did.  Got up at 6:00 and did 3 miles on the TM plus most of my exercises.  That muscle in my right leg is bothering me again though.  Hmmm... Felt good to do something again though.

Hypothermia Alert!! / 3 Miles

I'm here!

I ran outside today!  I know, I'm nuts!  When I started out I was pretty sure that I would be returning with frostbite.  But no!  I survived.  Actually, it was very nice after the first mile and a half.

Good pace.  I think the cold encouraged me to run faster.  You know the motto.  The faster we run, the faster we're done!

Spooktacular Run! / 3 miles

It is Halloween in Kensington!  Everyone has their decorations out and it is super cute. Made me smile. Or grimace. I feel like I smile HARD when running. So I guess that can me my running Halloween decoration!

Anyway, beautiful day. 3 miles. Nice. Fun. That's what it's all about!

One Year Ago Today

You were running the San Francisco Marathong along with 28,000 other crazy people!  Congratulations again!

I'm taking at least a couple days off here now.  Pulled a muscle in my right leg somehow on Saturday and going to use that for an excuse as long as I can.

Whistlestop 2013

I ran the Whistlestop Half Marathon this morning.  Very nice weather this year.  About 60, party cloudy, pretty windy but didn't bother much running on the trail in the trees.  My time was 2.25.  Missed my perseonal best by 4 minutes but I really didn't feel into it today.  Just glad I got it done.

Hurray! / Texas x3

It's been awhile so I had a goal of doing Texas 3 times, but I wasn't sure how that would work out.  But cooler weather makes an absolute world of difference.  I did do it 3 times!  It was challenging, though.

Yesterday and today we have just had perfect weather.

Came home and did some crunches, weights, squats.

Now I'm just kicking around here and soon we'll head to the Polish festival.  It's the one Mom's haircutter lady told her about!  I looked it up and we're able to go.  So we'll have delicious Polish food.  Which is a giant part of the reason I wanted to run Texas 3 times!

Quick run today.  3 miles.  Did a few pushups, too.  That's about it!

Getting Ready for Whistlestop

It's supposed to be 54 degrees, party cloudy, and breezy tomorrow morning in Ashland.  Should be very nice and will be much nicer than it's been the last two years when it's been cold, very windy, even some rain.

Brrrr! / 3 miles

Cold one over here with a high of 72.  I know you shiver!  Tomorrow?  Supposed to be a high of 64 with a chance of rain!  Pretty darn exciting!

I had a good run this am.  3 miles.  The usual.  Did some squats, weights, and ab stuff when I got back.

Almost a year now I guess since I ran that marathon in SF!

Good Run / 3 miles

Not my all time best, but it was a good outing!  I ran in the am because I wanted to skip the heat.  Which I did.

It's supposed to cool down here, and I hope that's true.  I'm a broken record, but I'm over the heat!

Also, I did 2 sets of pushups today.  12 each.

I will also tell you that I woke up this am, saw it was 5:30, and went back to sleep.  Who am I?!

2013 Record!

42 and cool but sunny with no wind so I ran outside and it was great!  29.11 for 3.01 miles.  Best I've done this year and getting close to my best ever time.  (I think that was 28.47 the first year I was running.)  I was amazed when I turned the corner at 1.5 miles and saw my time.  So I just kept pushing.  Very pleased.

Pilates

I went to pilates today.  Really good class.  I like this particular studio but, sadly (well, not really - replace "sadly" with "whatever"), they are just too pricy for me.  I got a buy one get one free deal for new clients only.  But, otherwise, their classes are between 18 and 20(something) dollars per class.  It just depends on the pack you buy.  I can find cheaper.  And, frankly, just as good.  I'll admit, it's a nice studio and the class sizes are a lot smaller.  5 students rather than 10 - 15.  So I totally get that I'm getting more attention and they need to make up for the smaller classes.  But I'll go cheaper.

I'm trying something new with my sleeping.  You know how sometimes I am wide awake at 3:30 am so I just decide to get up?  Well, I'm making myself stay in bed.  And, actually, I've been able to go back to sleep.  I think it was different with that other job where I would just start worrying.  What's that word again?

Good Morning

It's another wet day here.  Big thunder and lightning storm just after midnight and it just poured rain for half an hour or so.  Had a full inch in the rain gauge this morning.  Still spitting rain out there now so I ran inside again.  3 miles on the TM.  Went better today.  Not sure why but felt like it was the best run of the week.

A week from right now....I'll be running outside no matter what the weather!

Headed back over to Texas today and ran it twice!  I'll be back to three before we know it!

Fun day today with the movie.  It was good.  I got carsick!

Cold and Wet Morning

Well, it was 50 degrees out there but windy and misty so I opted for the TM again today.  Did my 3 miles plus the pushups and situps.  I was like you were yesterday.  Not really into it but managed to get it done.  I'm in the tapering down mode now before the Whistlestop next Saturday.  I keep thinking maybe Angie will cancel out but she hasn't!

I wasn't really really feeling it, but I also wasn't totally opposed.  So I did it.  And it was fine. 

And then I did some pushups and weights.  So that's all good.

1 hill

Sure can tell I haven't been over to Texas for a bit.  Only did one run up it today.  It broke me!  We're going to be having more of San Diego: Extreme Heat Edition over the weekend so I don't know that I'll get to work on hills for a bit here yet.  Someday fall will come though.  Someday!

Good Morning

Only 40 here this morning so back on the TM today.  Will be on that more often than not now I supppose.  Good run and did the pushups and situps, too.

Good run! / 3 miles

Good run today!  Listened to my pace music again.

Our weather is much better today.  Both heat and humidity.  As in less heat and more humidity.  Much more comfortable.

I did two sets of pushups today, 12/set!  Also did some crunches and such.
