Catching up!

I ran yesterday but neglected to post!

I went over to Coronado actually and ran on the beach. It was really nice. Not a lot of people. It was somewhere between drizzle and rain so I understand why people were not beaching it!

I just plotted it on walkjogrun.net and it turns out to be a longer route then I thought. It actually is three miles. I thought it was two.

No matter how long it is, I feel like I've been hit by a cement truck!!

Oh, editing to add: I made my goal!!! I'm actually .5 pounds below my goal. Yay me!

Runnin and such

Well, I'm darn close to my 5/31/09 goal weight. .5 pound away in fact! Will I make it???? Or will I eat pudding all weekend???

I had a great run this morning and did hills at lunch. I practically got rained on both times! We are doing the June Gloom here and it sure is misty out!

In fact, this morning I started out and then came back to check the weather! I was pretty sure it was just mist but wanted to make sure before I subjected my iPod to the elements.

I got that book from the library, Potatoes not Prozac. I suppose it will tell me to lay off the sugar and refined flour. Why is it the stuff that is bad for us tastes so good????

Up and at it. Did the 2 miles again and a beautiful morning out there. 53 when I left the house. Sunny and very little wind. Perfect morning. The wind is picking up now though so glad I beat it. I'm heading out for Eau Claire in a bit here and won't be online tonight or tomorrow morning. Have a good day.

Lazy and Strong

Well, I had a good day and a bad day all rolled into one.

One think - eating was healthy all day! Also, I had roasted brusselS sprouts for dinner and the were delicious. And, I just learned that they are apparently officially named brusselS sprouts! I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight!

I woke up with a serious noggin ache this morning and I actually had it all day. And night I guess. That is weird/unusual for me. Anyway, I knew I was not feeling all Speedy Gonzales but I decided to anyway. I told myself that three miles isn't really that far...and I was already up anyway, so just do it!

So I did! But, man, was I slow. About a minute longer then usual, which was kind of a bummer. But I decided to do four miles then, just slow. So that's what I did. No muscle work today. No hills. But that's OK.

Good Morning

A beautiful morning! About 50 when I left the house. NO wind!!! Perfect. Ran my 2 miles in 19:15. Record time for me. I will start to lengthen my distance on Monday. If I can add a quarter mile a week I will be at 3 miles by race day. Weight is holding steady at 6 lbs below my goal weight so feeling pretty good about that. Have a good day. A word of advice: avoid skunks!

I'm tired!

I am worn out tonight! Hopefully I can get some decent sleep!

I had a really good run this morning - about average time for me. Also did hills at lunch.

I'm going back to basics with my pushups. I was trying to do three sets of ten every other day. My third set I couldn't usually do ten and my form was starting to fall apart on the third set! THEN! My back started hurting. Across my back, right below my shoulder blades. And I am sure it is just poor form pushups. So I'm working on quality, not quantity.

Anyway, this is my long winded way of saying I did three sets of five. No backache thus far!

Also a healthy eating day. I have been eating a lot of beets. I just love them. Do you like mustard greens? I do. So spicy/peppery/hot! YUM!

Good Morning

Brrr. Only 42 when I left the house this morning and wind out of the north. It was cold! I only did 2 miles this morning and think I will do that the rest of the week. The full 3 miles is still a goal I can't seem to reach. And I am just tired these days. Jet lag I suppose. But I ran the whole 2 in just over 21 minutes. Have a good day.

I'm dry!

I must be hungry for some weather because I went outside this morning and thought "this May grey looks more like rain clouds!!" Well, um...the were not!

I had a great run this am - I'm lazy and my watch is on the other side of the room but I think I clocked in at 30:23. Getting there. Still. Oh well. That magical 30 just continues to give me a goal! Look at that positive thinking!

I also ran hills at lunch today. Two coworkers were out of the office Friday and today. So it was just me and new girl. And today I told myself "Just because there is a staffing problem, doesn't mean it is a problem for the staff!" And I ran hills! New girl was nervous, but hey, swim baby! Swim!

Healthy eating all day too. I had a salad for dinner tonight that was so delicious! I made a white balsamic reduction and it turned out great!

Good Morning

Ran outside this morning on my old route. Really seemed like work today though. Wow. I still can't run the whole 3 miles. Walked about 4/10's after 2 miles this morning. Then ran the rest of the way home. And I haven't done my pushups and situps for 10 days and that was really hard this morning. How quickly you lose it if you don't use it! But my weight is still down so that's the good news this morning. Have a good day.

Back to it!

I had a couple tough food/exercise days on Friday and Saturday.

Friday, I went out to run and a woman was walking her pit bull - leash free. That was all the hint I needed to take a day off and drink more coffee!

Saturday, well, I didn't even pretend to try! Also, I ate pudding. A lot.

But Sunday and today I'm back on track! Ran both days (three miles each day) and eating healthy. Whew! I really do feel so much better - physically and emotionally - when I know I'm taking care of myself.

I'm really glad you had fun....but I'm even happier that you are home!!

Good Morning

Well, actually, not so good. Very, very windy here already at 7 am so I didn't run outside. Got on the treadmill and did 21 minutes (so 2 miles) before the belt started slipping so had to quit. Tried to tighten it but never got any better. Got the manual out and stood there dripping sweat trying to adjust it but to no avail. Gave up and will look at it again later. Haven't run since last Thursday morning so felt good to do even a little today. We've only had this thing for a year so hope it can be adjusted. Of course, the warranty was off in March. Hope you have a better day!

Well, shoot, I'm tired! I could get up and look at my watch....but I'll just report an approximate 31 minutes for running today!

Did the requisite pushups and lunges upon my return.

Ran the usual hills today.

Not the drug! Long - slow - distance. I feel like that's what I did today. Only three miles but it felt like it took forever! I can tell I over ate this weekend. Oh well. It was a delicious weekend anyway!

Whoops!

I forgot to post last night! Worry not, I didn't forget to exercise yesterday! I just hope you are not in Greece checking blogger for my update that does not yet exist.....

I had a good run in the AM. My three mile point was 31:21ish. I ran 4 miles total, so my three mile time is lost in the annals of my mind! Did the regular pushups and such upon my return.

Also ran hills at lunch.

And then....pizza for dinner! It was delicious!

Good Morning

And good bye! You know about our run this morning. Pretty exciting.

I looked up all the hotels online last night and only one has a fitness center mentioned. The others might have them but don't say online. But maybe not, too. Not sure I'll have time or energy to run while we're gone anyway.

I'm back down 2 lbs this morning! so back to Tuesday's weight. Same as all last week. So, what's the deal with that? MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL! Think the scale is screwy. Not taking a scale with us so wonder what it will be a week from Sunday. I hate olives so might be ok!

Have a good week. If we can get online over there I will check in. The hotels all mention that they have an "internet corner" so don't know what that means.

31:17....ish

I sure had one of those "I don't wanna!!!" days today! But I did! My time was 31:17. Pretty good.

I did hills at lunch - 10 today actually. I'm going out for dinner tonight, so I was just planning ahead a little for the big Friday weigh in.

And, YES! GRRR. I was up .5 today. I blame the diet pop!

I'm gonna miss you, partner! I know you will have a fantastic time though!

Good Morning

Good morning. Only 38 and very, very windy here this morning so I didn't go outside. Hate fighting the wind. Did 30 minutes on the treadmill and jogged the whole way so got in 2.5 miles. Then my 20 pushups and situps. Am taking running clothes with me so hope there will be treadmills in the hotels but don't know about that. Hope so though. My weight is exactly the same today as yesterday. Oh well. I'll probably lose weight on the trip because I don't like olives or lamb! Final packing here today and want to get the lawn mowed. Will put on my long johns to be out there doing it!

Yep! You read that right! And I typed that right! I'm in the 30s! So that means that I did 10 minute/10 second miles this morning. AMAZING!

Did the usual mess of pushups and such upon my return.

Did some hill running at lunch.

Did some gardening after work!

I'm tired!

So I've seen great pace change this week and I'm thinking it has to be the change I've made with the soy milk. I was drinking it after my run but decided to see what would happen if I drank it before. So I'm having it the minute I get up. Before coffee even. We shall see if this keeps up, but it is the only think I've changed this week. So it must be impacting my energy level.

Well, I'm sure going to miss you when you are gone! Don't worry though - I'll keep exercising and posting! You will need a day off just to go through all my posts.

I mentioned this when we talked earlier, but I only have two pounds to go to make my May 31 goal. That's great because then I can get a jump on my June goal which is, shall we say, overly ambitious. And by overly ambitious I mean that I've already told myself to get real and not worry about it!

I'm interested/anxious to see what the scale says tomorrow. Today was birthday cake day for me and Jessica - the May birthdays! It was somewhat healthy - angel food, very small amount of cream topping (I'm talking like 1 tbsp) and fresh fruit. I ate it, which is irritating because it really wasn't good - this lady who makes our cakes is AMAZING in her ineptitude. But the cake caught me at the right time - I was really hungry! I also had a diet 7up.

So we shall see how that equates to pounds tomorrow. It is no biggie - I think I'm more irritated that I ate something that I knew would not be good! OY!

Good Morning

We got some rain overnight so everything is wet here this morning. Wasn't sure if I should run outside or not but took a chance and didn't get wet. Might be some more showers coming later they say. Anyway, ran 2.1 miles and then had to walk about 4/10's before running the rest of the way home. I have put a small marker at the 1.5 mile mark up the road so I know exactly where to turn around. Not sure how long it will stay there but it was still there this morning. Did the whole thing in 33.45. Not great but not too bad either.

I didn't eat very healthy yesterday! And it showed on the scale this morning. Weight is still a mystery to me. I am resigned to the fact that I will be gaining some on this trip so would like to be down a couple pounds before we leave but doesn't look like that will happen.

30:58!! w00t!!

Well, you already know my exciting news, but here I go again! Must be the chocolate soy milk in the morning!

Actually, I know it is was the first mile. I really focused on doing better there and it had an impact!

I did hills at lunch today. Alone. That is good and bad. Jessica can't run that many, but having somebody there with me is really motivating and helped my pace. She says she will do it again tomorrow. We shall see!

Tonight I'm just chilling. I'm tired! Ate a healthy dinner - a little of my leftover chicken cordon bleu and some squash. I steamed a couple of little artichokes I am going to eat, too! Do you like artichokes? I love them!

31:09 - Big News!

I had a great run this morning! I ran three miles in 31:09!!! Let me tell, you I was VERY excited! I also did a total of 4 miles, just for the heck of it. 42:04 was my time in total. I'm pretty thrilled because my mile pace was 10:31 over 4 miles.

I did pushups and whatnot upon my return.

Jessica and I walked at lunch - and ran my hill 4 times. She is bitter.

And I gardened after work. So a hecka lot of exercise today. And it wasn't forced. I just did it because I wanted to do it.

Good Morning

Good morning. We are up and at it. I walked Carter to school and then walked his bike back home because he couldn't find his bike lock this morning. Then I went for a run. It really seemed like work today. Why is that? Lately, it seems to be getting harder instead of easier and I am expecting the opposite to happen. I only ran for 17 minutes this morning and walked the rest of the way home. I was pooped at 17 minutes. Not sure how far I went but am going to drive it before we leave here so I will know. I think I was running faster than usual for some reason and I think it's harder (no pun intended) to run on concrete sidewalks than on a blacktop road. Seemed harder on my lower legs. So the second half I moved to the medians and ran on people's grass! Hope they didn't mind. I will run the rest of the week at home but don't expect I'll get any running in while on our trip. Of course, when we're in Olympia I plan to run around the original Olympic track if there is one. Not sure what's there. Hope there's something though because that would be kind of fun to do. And then I would always be able to say that I ran in the olympics! Have a good day!

Quick Catchup

I had a really good weekend, health wise. I made really smart - and delicious - food choices. So it was good, I had fun, but it didn't break my diet bank!

I ran three miles yesterday, which I don't usually do on Saturday. Then I went for a big bike ride into Hillcrest this afternoon.

Why so long you ask??? Cause I ran longer! Yes, I sure did! I was about done this morning and I just thought - what the heck! I thought I added another mile, but I mapped it out and it was only .81. But still!

It was neat out this morning. Lots of marine layer. I could feel it!

I did two sets of pushups, but I just didn't have a lot of stamina after running so I didn't force it. Also, I'm worn by the end of the week!

I had four tokens in my purse, so I went to the batting cages at lunch. I was so beautiful outside!

Had a big dinner out tonight. It was delicious! I would say I ate healthy if not for the copious amounts used to cook my shrimp, tuna, and vegetables!! We went to a teppanyaki restaurant and it was really fun!

Then Bart and I went bowling. You know, that really is some exercise! I was sweaty!

Here was my drama tonight. My coworker make treats today and REALLY wanted me to eat them. I told her I would take one home because I didn't want to get started eating treats at work. Because I wouldn't quit once I started! And we have all kinds of junk at the office to eat! Anyway, she packed a couple up for me and I had a bite of one when I got home. Put it back in the fridge. And as I was mucking around here I realized "why am I even keeping those? I know myself. I'm going to focus/focus/focus on them until I eat them!" So I threw them away. Wasteful, yeah. But I didn't want them and I would have made a choice I regretted. I know myself. I would have.

So, a successful evening I think!

I had a good run this morning. Very slow on mile 1 though. I'm going to try and focus on that a bit more tomorrow.

Had coffee (decaf, natch!) with a gal pal tonight. And she said "YOU LOOK GREAT!" Yay!

I had a really healthy (and tasty) eating day. I'm excited to get to the Farmer's Market on Sunday, though.

You start with good morning and I start with good night!

I had a good run this morning, although it was video game style. And by that I mean everybody was trying to hit me! Hahaha! Yeah, I don't think it is funny either. But I'm intact! My time was 32:17.

I came back and did pushups and ab things. Doing something new with my pushups this week. I am going to try and two three sets of 10. I did OK with my first two sets but my last 5 in set 3, well I don't think my form would count!

Ran hills at lunch. Added an extra one in! I mapped it out and my hill is an eighth of a mile. So I added another to get in a half a mile at lunch. I ran down hill today, too. Usually I walk.

As anticipated, I gained approximately ten million pounds on vacation. It will come right off, I think!

I wasn't thrilled with my eating today. I ate tons of veggies but I realized I didn't eat any fruit! How is that even possible!?!

Good Morning

A new record! Did the 2 miles in 20.08 this morning! And I wasn't trying either. If I had known how close I was to doing 10 minute miles I would have kicked it up coming down the driveway which I could have done. I really can't believe this actually. Makes me wonder if my watch is working right. A gorgeous morning here, too. Going to be nice all week while I'm sitting inside going to class! Ugh. Into the 70's today. Well, have a good week and I'll report in Friday night or Saturday morning. Not taking the laptop with me so won't be online.

Good Morning

Well, I did it again. Ran the whole 2 miles so that's 4 days this week. I think I'll be glad for a break on Sunday though. Did it in 20.48 this morning. I look at the watch when I turn the corner at the one mile mark and then again when I'm done so not clock watching. But doing pretty good. Was cold when I started this morning but, of course, warmed up along the way.

Have fun in the desert today. I'm going out to plant potatoes and peas in a bit here. Sunny and 57 out there and going all the way up to 65 today! Heat wave.

I must be tired! Or......OLD!! I had a really good run this morning but that last mile was really gummy. I'm ready for a break over the weekend!

Good news - I'm eligible for a pedicure! I've made another five pound goal. I looked at my graph this morning and realized that, since I've started keeping track on 2/28/09, I've lost 12 pounds! I'm pretty stoked!
