I don't know, I've just been worn out this week! I've been going to bed at 9 and have no interest in the gym after work. But I have been running, so I feel none too bad about it.
Today I did a short run of 3 miles. I was just tired and not really into it and it was pretty gross out this morning! At about a mile in it just got crazy foggy and I was soaked! So I did 3 and came home.
When I got home I did 2 of the 10 minute pilates sections from that Netflix video. OUCH! One was an ab one that was new to me and, let me tell you, I've got some work to do. It was very very hard!

Good Morning
I will have to have at least one cup of coffee that morning, too. No way can I get up and going without that! And I will take drinks at every stop, too, I'm sure. Don't know anything about honey stingers or gu or any of that stuff so will have to get educated.
I want to go to Road Runner Sports one day next week. I have a gift card to spend! I looked up Lake Miramar, too, and that sounds like fun so let's do that, too.
Had a charlie horse during the night and right leg felt sore this morning but loosened up when I did my exercises and the run was fine. Wonder what causes those things? I get them during the night out of the blue. Hurt like hell. Off to work.

Good One
Sounds like we both had good runs today! I did. Pretty cloudy out this am. And it was one of those days were getting started was the hardest part. But once I got started, it felt great. Course I spent the entire time thinking about that work thing I emailed you about! SIGH!
Have you thought about what you will eat the morning of the race? Last year I had 300 calories of yogurt and 2 kiwis. Also, several glasses of water and coffee. And I think I'll do that again. The yogurt gave me calories without being super heavy.
I think it is fine to just eat regular leading up to it, too. People have all sorts of rituals around food for these races. Build up your carbs! Taper off your carbs! It all sounds like a lot of work to me!

...the 6 mile man today! Or more accurately, the 6.03 mile man! Lance is so proud! My next goal is 6.5 miles because that will be 1/2 of a 1/2 marathon! I felt good and strong today. My back is fine and no more spasms at all. Also did the sit ups and push ups so my day is off to a great start. I am soooooo ready to try running outside again. Haven't run outside since that Thanksgiving Day 5k when it was only +5! San Diego here I come. A week from right now we'll be on the plane!

Long Run
Happy Monday to you! Today I had a day off, even though I should have gone to the gym. Alas, I had no desire to go to the gym. I really need to encourage myself to start going more.
But I did run yesterday and it was a long run. I went up to Lake Miramar and ran it twice, so that is approximately 10 miles. It was a great run, probably because I listened to Glee the entire time! And, although it had been raining (wet ground!), I timed it well. Not a lot of people and the blue sky came out. I like going there. I have not been since I was training last year!
Tomorrow we are having a Dip Off at work. I am bringing a fruit dip. Small nod to health with the fruit! The dip itself is totally delicious and totally unhealthy!
I'm hovering around 130.2. That 125 is an illusive dream!

Mixed bag
Morning!
Well, I had an interesting day of exercise. I ran in the morning - which you know. But did I run 3.1 miles? Or something else? I if you know, please tell me! Cause i don't know!
Today was supposed to be my day off but I'm just so obsessed with my calibration (I can admit that I'm obsessed!) that I ran to see how it was doing. Then I did the pilates 10 minutes session.
And that's it! I'm really lucky I didn't get rained on. It was a near thing!

Anyway, back to healthyness! I did a truncated run this morning. Ang and I were blabbing and I hit the road a bit late. So I did my 3.1 (or was it 2.94???) run. Cold (well, San Diego cold) but dry. Then I did another 10 minute pilates segment from Netflix.
And I did run hills at lunch. 5 times.
Better start warming up!!!

Dry day
Today was a running day. Finally! So I went out and had a pretty good run this morning. Which, you may have noticed, I uploaded to Nike+!!! You'll have a lot of reading to do there tomorrow.
And that was it for today. Well, I need to do my PT stuff. But no hills or gym. Gym tomorrow though. Core class again!

New things
Yep, it rained again! But not too much and, actually, I could have run this morning. But it was soooo cold and I woke up with that headache still and I just didn't feel like it. So I did something different! I went to Netflix and found 2 streaming exercise videos to try!
First I did a 30 minute "boot camp". Lots of marching and kicks and such. Then I found one that has 10 minute pilates segments and I did the hips/buns one. I was hot and sweaty when I was done and I can feel it this afternoon. So I'll do that again. It was fun!
And I did run hills at lunch. Blue sky but cold. Still, it was nice to get out.

Class
Will I regret it? Pretty sure I will! But I took another class at the gym tonight. Killer Core. Actually, Killer Kore but it is just soooo lame to spell things like that! GA! But it was good and I think I'll feel it tomorrow, for sure. I lifted some weights, too.
But, otherwise, I stayed in today. I slept in till 6 and when I got up it was not raining! I was gonna kick somebody! But then it started again so sleeping in was the right call.
We even had hail today!
I'm going to have to play tomorrow by ear. I have a terrible headache tonight. I hope it is just caffeine but I'm going to bed soon.

The 60 minute man! Wow! Today I ran 5.62 miles on the TM but more important I ran for a whole hour! 60.09!!! Didn't decide to go for an hour until I was at 5 miles and said, I can do this. And I did! Listened to our friend, Barry, and heard all his great hits.
I see on the morning news that it's raining in SD and all of southern CA. Amy and I are heading for Duluth pretty soon here. Two weeks from today Mom and I will be heading to the airport!

Saturday morning but no sleeping in because we have company! And they are early risers. I did stay in bed until 7:00 however. Ran 4 miles on the TM. Only +21 out there this morning. Supposed to be +50 this afternoon but if I don't run first thing in the a.m. it doesn't happen. So...

Ghosts!
EVERYWHERE! So much fog again today. It's just been nuts. Even more then yesterday, I think. Very we and very low visibility.
So, let's get the really crappy news out of the way. I've had a disheartening week. I recalibrated and I either did a really bad job (doubtful) or what I thought I have been running has been waaay off. I did calibrate on a treadmill initially. So that is all I'm gonna say about that.
Other bad news. My right knee is jacked. I think it is related to that class - there was one thing we did that I think might have strained it. Tonight it feels a lot better. So I'm OK, but I don't know if I'll take that class again because it worried me!
OK, enough with the bad news. On to funny stuff. First, in the Kensington Loop, I saw lost person posters. In front of one house ONLY. Like 4 on their palm trees. Picture only. No "Have you seen my sister" note. Nothing. And no phone number. No email. Just the picture and the word "Lost!!". Very odd. All I can think is that it is part of this meme:

Running......
And that's it! I'm already off my schedule. I really need to not skip lunch. But I did it again. And I'm doing it to myself. Nobody is pressuring me. Not only is it bad for me, it sets a bad example! I want people to go to lunch!
But I did run this morning and it was weird! The air was full of ghosts....in other words, it was VERY foggy! Kind of crazy because it didn't seem terribly foggy until I went out to run. So it was damp, low visibility, and smelled that fog smell. Very strange! But fun. I love Glee 5. It is my favorite!

Jelly
That's me. I'm jelly. And I can't believe it. I did a class at the gym tonight called "Tone and Sculpt". Only 30 minutes. Easy....right? NO WAY! So hard. Wow. I actually thought it was a core class but I guess I read the schedule wrong. Or they changed it. Probably that! Blame them. Anyway, this was about isolating muscles and I can tell you that I am going to be sore. 30 minutes sound short but it was about 10 minutes too long!
So.....I'll be doing that again on Thursday!
And I ran this morning. I can't remember - maybe 5 miles or so. I had a work thing that I needed to do strike me so I came home and did it.
Did you ever find out why you're not supposed to calibrate the Nike+ on a treadmill? I recalibrated mine and it has totally jacked my mileage and my pace.

Just me again. I forgot to reset my alarm from Sunday so got up 20 minutes late this morning! But I got a run in and did the exercises. I officially passed 300 miles since November 1st this morning according to my own little spreadsheet here! Amazing!

Good Morning
I did 5.28 miles this morning - another record for me! But some woman talked to me today. Didn't catch her name but it wasn't my old buddy, Lance. Anyway, it went fine. I'm moving my longer runs to Monday so today was the start of that. Don't really get to 6 miles on the plan until late April. Don't want to peak too soon!

That's how I felt on my run today. I'm tired! Like you were saying, I need to plan a day off. Here is what I am thinking:

S = long run
Su = gym (no run)
That way I can run big on Saturday and feel good doing it.
The good part of my run is that it was cool but nice out.

Sleeping in fail!
I had to work till 8 last night and I was feeling particularly old and tired, so I figured I'd sleep in this morning. Not so much! I somehow accidentally set my alarm. I immediately turned it off but, dang, the damage was done! I snoozed for about 20 minutes and then just gave up and got up.
And, when I get up that early, I might as well run. So I did! And I listened to Glee. Again. Which you will be listening to soon! Good run - beautiful day.
And I did hills at lunch. So good to get out. And I'm glad to get back to hills because they really help with pace. And then I did my PT things when I got home!
Full day. I'm tired. Hurray Friday!

Running!
Yep, I ran today! I didn't sleep in! Boy, two days of not running this week - I'm discombobulated. I don't even know what day it is, I feel so off schedule.
I did run today, but I didn't push it for speed. I feel like I went further then I should have - and intended. But I lost count of my loops. Anyway, yesterday was a big run for me so I meant to take it a little easier then I did. I will tomorrow for sure.
I did abs when I got home - oh, and pushups. And then I did hills at lunch. It was so beautiful out! I thought about you!
I will go home tonight and do my PT exercises. Stretches, basically.

Back at it!
Well, had a couple of off days but I recouped STRONG! I did snooze this morning, but I was still up by 5:08. Acceptable. And then I was running by 6:30. Seriously, the hardest part of running is getting off my couch. But I wanted to do a long run so I needed to get out of here early enough. As it was I didn't get back until after 8. So I guess 10 miles will be my max when I'm running before work. Because I'm NOT getting up earlier and I'm not cutting down my coffee drinking time!
My pace was really great today, too. My entire run was sub-10 minute miles. But I checked my pace a couple of times and I was running FAST!
Then I did nothing when I got home. Really have to get back to abs and strength. If not post run, then at night.
Oh, I did do something else! I did all of my physical therapy exercises. I will do them every single night. I'm no slacker! I'm like my dad - committed and dedicated!

FitNOTic!
That's me! I don't know what the heck is going on! I totally slept past my alarm again today. I know for a fact that I was dreaming. It seems like the few times I've slept in that I can remember dreaming as I hit snooze. Maybe my mind won't let my body get up until I'm done dreaming? Anyway, I actually slept till my alarm turned off! And then I just woke up (at 6:15) when I was done. Very strange.
But it means I did not run again today. Tomorrow is a new day.
I had my second physical therapy appointment today and I am sore! And all I did was stretches and such. My left oblique is really sore today. So I'll do these all week and we shall see. Lots of strengthening.
Just went out to see the space shuttle but I could not. I did, however, get cold!

I'm behind!
Well, I feel behind anyway. I still did not put together a training schedule. Well, I had a busy weekend, I guess. Basically I am going to keep running what I'm doing and add in a couple longer runs each week. I'll do an 18 and a 20 before the marathon. And I really need to get back to hills at lunch. Those really help. And weights!
And I had a really good run today. It was long-ish. Good time throughout. Probably I'll run up to Lake Miramar next weekend:

Edited to add: I just stopped abruptly last night! I slept in on purpose today. Rain was in the forecast and it started last night. And I called it right because it did continue through this AM! It is supposed to be done now (although it looks very dark and dreary!) and is supposed to be dry tomorrow.

Just call me...
...The 5 Mile Man! Yep, that's right! I did 5.09 miles this morning and it went fine and I felt good! Hurray! So, my little training plan calls for 5 miles runs every Saturday in March and I believe now that I can do it. I also did the push ups and sit ups so it's been a good morning here! Lance Armstrong is so proud of me! And he should be.

Good Morning
My training calendar started last Monday and so far I'm right on track. Did 3+ miles again today. Then did my 60 push ups and 60 sit ups. Have started doing "arms crossed over my chest sit ups" instead of "hands around the back of my head sit ups." My personal trainer (Mike Colaizy!) says these are better ab exercises and there's less chance of hurting your back because when your hands are behind your head you are pulling on your neck and that can have consequences. Looking forward to my first 5 mile run tomorrow!

Yep, again with the sleeping till 5:30! Maybe there is a weather change going on and it is impacting me. Or something.....It isn't that big of a deal, not like I get to work late.

Good Morning
I felt tired this morning and didn't really feel like getting on the TM but I did and felt good once I got going. I lost track of the songs and was surprised when the first song started playing again! Loved that because it meant I was done! Also did the push ups and sit ups. Will walk again after lunch and hit Wild River before coming home. My month there will be done next Tuesday and don't plan to buy another one right now anyway.

Being the boss......
Well, I'll tell you, my life sure is different now. Work is different for me. Today I started working at 5 am. Yep, I was still laying in bed. I got up and did some more work (but I still wrote in my journal - some things are scared, you know?). Then I just went to the office. So....I left at 1! I didn't even ASK - I just told. There is a trade off, I guess. I might be needed early, but I'm the master of my own time. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to work at 5! But I knew this was coming this morning so I wasn't totally surprised.
Anyway, I came home and ran after work! And it was hard, let me tell you! There is a reason I like running in the morning. I don't have as much time to make excuses about why I couldn't possibly run. Today I was pretty sure it was going to rain (it didn't). I thought I might have a headache (I didn't). I thought I was too hungry (I wasn't). I thought I was too lazy (I wasn't!).
So I did it!
Anyway, I came home and ran after work! And it was hard, let me tell you! There is a reason I like running in the morning. I don't have as much time to make excuses about why I couldn't possibly run. A year ago today we were flying to San Diego and, believe me, I sure wish we were doing the same thing today! -9 here this morning! Was up to +41 yesterday afternoon and supposed to warm up again tomorrow...but today...brrrr. I really need a break from this!
Did my running and exercises and checked my heart rate today. It hit a high of 162 so that's great. I'm feeling good, too. I started working seriously last night on my running plan for the next 3 months. I'm going to use the plan from marathonrookie.com for the half but am upping it here and there and instead of resting every Tuesday will make that a bike riding day.
So, out into the cold. Have a good day!

BAH
That's the kind of day I had. First, I "slept in". I try to be nice to myself about it and call it sleeping in rather then oversleeping. But, whatever. I got up at 5:30, not 5. I was dreaming! Totally weird for me.
I did run even though I hit the road a bit late. Did the usual. Only saw my new waving pal but none of the others. I guess I was too late for them.
Then I went to work. And it was chaos. But I did not eat a million peppermint patties today. And, believe me, I regret that. A lot.
