Doing Stuff!
Busy weekend here but I'm really on the upswing so I was able to run, go to the gym, and have fun! Bart was here Saturday and Sunday and we had a really good time. I did run Friday and today! Gym yesterday. I my running is slow but I did it and that's what I'm really excited about!
Really seems like cutting out the dairy is having a hugely positive impact on me. Hopefully it stays that way and isn't just a coincidence.

Feeling good!
Really seems like I've hit the upswing side of things. As you know, since we talked today! I did go to the gym earlier. Walked there, as it's such a nice day. I did my usual gym things. Good news, over the past week I've built up my planks again! Happy about that.

I Ran Outside!
Yes, I did! Was 58 degrees, cloudy, but no wind so I went for it. Did 2.5 miles and ran all the way. Wished I had worn shorts and a t shirt though instead of long pants and long sleeves. Had to go today because a cold front is moving in tonight and going to be cold, cold, cold for a few days. Also rain coming tonight they say. And I hope. My garden and asparagus needs a drink.

Am I better? Maybe!
Today is the first morning in two weeks that I have felt refreshed when I awoke. Even though I only slept 6h 45min. Shhhhh......don't tell anyone that it was under 7! This headache finally feels like it is receding. It's been two weeks! I have to keep working to figure this out because, even if this only happens twice a year to this degree, it has such a hugely negative impact on my life. So I will keep on top of figuring it out!
I still have not been running. Just zero energy and mental fortitude to do that. I have been going to the gym, though, and I did go yesterday. And was able to do my usual quantity and weights, although not with my normal level of pep. I'll get there, though.
Even though I have not been running, I have been walking. Almost every day I've been doing 10k steps, although a couple days I did not. Just didn't have it in me. I really hope I'm getting back into gear here!

Healthy Heart 5K
Mom and I did the Healthy Heart 5K in Osceola this morning. Went very well for both of us. I managed to run the entire way without any stopping or walking at all. My pace was 10:39. Feel very good about that. And Mom was second in her age group! A perfect, beautiful morning for it, too. Sunny, about 45, no wind. Just great. They said 170 people finished.

Gym!
It's been so long since I've been to the gym, and I could really tell. I hit it as hard as I was able and it did feel good. I'm still not 100% but I went for it anyway. I will tell you what, planks are really hard when I haven't been doing them for some time! I only did 1 minute front and 30 seconds on each side. Usually I do 1 minute front, 1 minute on each side, and 1 more minute front. I must rebuild!
Thinking that for our trip I'll have a goal of doing squats, planks, and pushups - in addition to all the walking I know we will be doing.

Still Indoors
It's been cold (mid 30's) and either windy or raining every morning this week. Too cold for this old man! So I have been keeping the TM busy and doing ok with that. Also doing my pushups and situps every morning. Foot pain didn't last too long the other day. A couple hours and it was gone. Very strange I think. Comes and goes like that. Also have some arthritis in my hands and can feel it there, too, at times. But none of it is severe or debilitating so I'm thankful for that.

Did some more stuff
Today was kinda a mish mash. I ran one single mile and thought thought "Oh, done!" So then I walked a mile. And then I went for a walk with my neighbor tonight! And sounds like we are going tomorrow, too.
Headache is still here but better. Frustrating, I just want it to go away!

I did stuff!
And now I'm so tired! But I did go to the gym today. Didn't really try to outdo myself, took it pretty easy truth be told. But I'm still tired and so I was just happy that I got to the gym.
Close to my steps too, but it's looking to rain so I may just not worry about it. We shall see.
Anyway, hopefully I'm back in business here!

I'm Still At It!
We haven't been posting this week but I have been on the TM every day except Thursday when Mom had her eye surgery. Doing 2.5 miles now plus my exercises. Wanted to run outside this morning because it was +50 but it was raining so decided to stay in. Hope to get out there one of these mornings.

I did it! 3 Mile Report
Today was the day! I finally got 3 miles in. I am not gonna lie - I wasn't really feeling it. And, in fact, at 1.5 miles I told myself I had my permission to stop at 2 miles. But then I just decided to go for it. And I did it! It wasn't that it was physically hard. Rather, I just haven't been in the mental zone. But hopefully I broke that barrier today.
I did go to the gym yesterday and I could really feel those yoga muscles. Dang! Just really surprised!
Whitewater Report
I did run on their TM in Whitewater on Friday and Saturday mornings. Then on Sunday I ran outside because it was gorgeous! And they are like you....in a great place for running. Close to a trail by a lake and very nice conditions. It was 58 when I was outside and just great. No run this morning, though, as we prepared to come home. Get this: it was +72 when we left Whitewater at 9:30 am today. Beautiful. Just like summer. It was +37 when we got out of the car at home!!! Just like winter. Windy. Terrible. So I will probably be on the TM here in the morning.

Yoga Uses Muscles!
I went to my second yoga class this morning and it was a different style than the last one. And it really needed muscles! In fact, some of the poses I couldn't do. I had to do modifications. Modification is a polite way of saying "easy", I think! And there were several poses that really caused me to tremble. So I felt like I really was getting some exercise!
Planning on the gym tomorrow. Time for me to stop slacking and get back to business.
Been meaning to ask you: will you run when we are in Israel? I was thinking of not bringing any running gear but wanted to know your plans first.

Back on the TM
I haven't run outside yet but have been back on the TM this week and doing ok. Been stuck on 2 miles but will up that starting tomorrow. Also back to 50 pushups and situps and that's been a shock to my system! Wearing my Reno Race t shirt today!

Updates: Gym > Run > Gym
Made it to the gym on Saturday and out of a run on Sunday. 2 miles on Sunday, slowly but surly rebuilding. Next run outing, I'll aim for 2.5 miles. Gym was hot today!
