Friday Morning

I'm taking today off from work because I will be in Eau Claire all day tomorrow and Sunday for our Synod Assembly.  So, I ran around the 6 mile block here this morning.  65 and sunny but very, very windy.  When I turned the corner up north and headed south to come home I felt like I was running in a wind tunnel!  Strongest wind I've ever run in I think.  So, I walked some of it.  Just couldn't keep running.  But my pace was still 11.09 overall so I did ok.  6.06 miles.  Not as good or as much fun as last Friday though when I had a partner on the Gandy Dancer Trail!

It was a year ago tomorrow on June 1st that I first mentioned in my daily journal that my left heel was starting to bother me some.  For the previous month it had been all about the pulled muscle in my right groin area.  I didn't say anything about how it started or when just that it was bothering me "some."  So I will see what else I reported in the days to come.

It didn't bother me at all this morning while running but it's a little sore now that I'm resting.

Added at 5:30 pm - the heel has bothered me all day.  Just don't get it.  No pain or discomfort at all this morning during a 6 mile run but then when I quit running it hurts.  Moral of the story?  Keep running all day long!

Never stop running! Hm....we could eat all the cookies we wanted, too. There might be something in that!

Sounds like a good training run - challenging. Wind really adds a new level of difficulty. It's not enjoyable but you now that it's in the past you can just reflect on what a hard a$$ you are!

I can't remember a specific trigger last year, either. It seemed to coincide with starting to run outside though.
