Julie's Challenge

I have been really struggling with motivation in regards to this exercise thing. Well, actually, regarding a lot of different things. But I have thought of a doable goal/challenge for myself. I have been thinking of it for the last couple of days, and am officially starting it tomorrow.

For the next 30 days I WILL exercise for 30 minutes every day. It could be a bike ride, or maybe jogging, it may be a "health walk" (that means speedy!), it might just be a thirty minute mosey while I am talking on the phone. But I am going to get moving for 30 minutes every day.
See? Doable. Easy even!

So the basic rule is 30 minutes every day. That said, I can skip a day. If I do, I need to make it up the next day (or over the course of the next couple of days). I cannot, however, "pay it forward". If I walk for 40 minutes on Monday that does not mean I can jog for 20 minutes on Tuesday. In addition, if I skip Friday I cannot add up all the extra 10 or 15 minutes from the preceding week and apply that to Friday's exercise. The time must be made up after the fact. Otherwise I am cheating.

I was thinking that I come up with these gigantic "I'm gonna" plans and maybe it is just too big a bite of the apple to chew. Maybe that is why I get overwhelmed and just stop.

30 minutes for thirty days is chewable.

That's how I did it. Decided to do 30 minutes a day for amonth and see how it went. When the weight started to drop I just kept doing it. Good for you! Actually, I think I started with one week. Then another and another.

It's funny - I have not weighed myself but I feel like I can tell a difference in my body over just a few days.

It that is how you did it, that's for sure how I will do it! It is obviously a successful technique.
