Yay me!
Yep, total self congratulatory title. But I ran 10 miles today! So I say again, yay me! I started with the Texas route and did Texas twice. Then I did the Kensington route and ran up Adams twice (you know how Adams dead ends at the end of the horseshoe? That's there I started on Adams).
It's so much cooler, and that was a giant help. But, for once, I actually brought beverage and snack with me. Yes. I have been running longish distances in the heat with no liquid. Sometimes I do things that are, oh, foolish. And I know it while I'm doing it. I know it before I'm doing it. I know it before I just go ahead and do it again! I'm a hard learner!
For my beverage I had mostly water with a little salt melted in. I couldn't taste the salt and, frankly, that was sad. I love salt. My snack was a whole wheat pita. I think both of these things helped a lot! I do feel better, post run, than I have on my other long runs this season.
So that's that. The rest of my day is dedicated to video games! Yay me for that, too!

I feel a lot better than I have after my other long runs. I'm really glad I brought the water and snack with me. Totally different today than I've felt the other days after my long run.
Water and a snack can make all the difference as you now know. I always take water (in my wonderful backpack!) on anything more than 3 miles. Don't take snacks but if I'm putting off a run until later in the morning I will eat my breakfast. Can't eat within 90 minutes of running though.
I'm bringing my pack with me for the race. It's decided!
