Good Morning

A year ago today we were flying to San Diego and, believe me, I sure wish we were doing the same thing today! -9 here this morning! Was up to +41 yesterday afternoon and supposed to warm up again tomorrow...but today...brrrr. I really need a break from this!

Did my running and exercises and checked my heart rate today. It hit a high of 162 so that's great. I'm feeling good, too. I started working seriously last night on my running plan for the next 3 months. I'm going to use the plan from marathonrookie.com for the half but am upping it here and there and instead of resting every Tuesday will make that a bike riding day.

So, out into the cold. Have a good day!

I'm glad your feeling good! I really like having something to train for - gets me very motivated.

I looked at marathonrookie - did you buy their ebook or what?

I am going to put together my training plan this weekend. I didn't do anything formal last year so I suppose I'll do that again this year! Although maybe that makes it formal......anyway, I'm going to look back and Nike+ and review what I ran. I feel like I started upping my mileage in March. But I'll tell you my plan when I have it!

No, I didn't buy the ebook or anything. I've kind of put the marathonrookie plan together with advice about doing some cross training from Mike Colaizy at Wild River. So, I'm including one day of biking every week. Will also continue the push ups and sit ups and am thinking about other exercises.

Biking is good for you - heck, cross training in general is good.

I have been reading about the importance of upper body strength training. I hadn't thought of it, but our upper body really works in tandem with the lower to propel us forward. Your pushups and ab stuff will help a lot with that.
