Osceola 5K

It was only +13 when I got up at 6:30 am but was +20 at race time.  They announced the temp to make us feel good!  Not a cloud in the sky and no wind at all so it was actually very nice.  I did it in 31.08 according to my Garmin.  Official time was 31.19 but that was "gun time" so a little different.  I ran the whole way and did ok.  But....well you don't want to hear it.  And look a the nice Cadet who greeted me at the end!

You are a brave brave man! You were happy with +20, so I also think you are insane! Yay for your volunteer!

And I do want to hear it. Troubles? your time sounds great, though.

I'm having problems with my right foot again. And, of course, my weight. AS ALWAYS! So, please, vent away!

Well, the left heel and ankle bothered me all day long yesterday after the run. I can't believe it. It had been feeling absolutely fine Thursday and Friday. No hint. During the run, I noticed it in the first half mile or so but it loosened up and was fine until I quit running. Today it's been ok, too. I don't get it and I also don't see the point of spending any more money on doctors and therapy. It will be what it will be. I will run until I can't any more. I've seen two podiatrists, 3 therapists, have had xrays that don't show anything. So, I'll see what tomorrow brings.

Yeah, that stinks. I wonder if they would do an MRI to see if there is soft tissue damage?

Sometimes these injuries just won't go away. I wonder if a long break is the solution? I'm thinking not just about you but also about my foot. But what would we do with ourselves? We'd go insane!

I thought long distance runners were already insane by definition so how would we tell the difference? I thought about taking a week off but didn't do it today. Not sure that would be long enough anyway. Probably need 6 months. I'm not starting it now however.

Haha! Yes, that's probably true!

Take next winter off!
