I did it!
I was in doubt around mile 12, but I did it! All 16. My last couple of miles were slllloooooow. But I still did it!
I tried something new, too. I got an audio book (Poison Study) to listen too. I think that made my pace slower probably, but it kept me mentally occupied. I'm glad I did it.
I got up at 4:30 and really didn't sleep last night because I was thinking about how I had to get up. You know how that goes!
Dad, you know your halo headband? Do you feel like it makes you sweat weird? I ask because whenever I wear mine, I just am a sweaty mess. And when I don't, it just evaporates off me. Today my shorts were soaked. SOAKED. Like I had been in a lake or something. My shirt too, I suppose. Anyway, I'm wondering if that happens to you, too.
Off to Vegas tomorrow! I'll probably bring some gear so I can pretend I'll lift weights!

Congratulations! That's great! Listening to books puts me to sleep so that wouldn't work for me. But, wow, up at 4:30! You deserve a little vacation in Vegas.
I haven't worn my halo for a long time so I can't say about the sweat issue. But if I had run 16 miles I'd be a sweaty mess whether I wore it or not!
I did 3 this morning and felt good. Another beautiful morning here. Just perfect. I wish it would last until April! Oh, then I'd be in SD. Anyway, it went well. Tomorrow I will go around the 4 mile block and see how that goes.
Have a good weekend! Say hi to Bart.
Thanks! I'm pretty happy I got it done. I feel a lot better about the upcoming marathon. I've got an 18 and a 20 mile run on the schedule yet.
I can see a book on tape making you snooze! For me, this really worked. I decided I was only going to listen to it while running and now I can't stop thinking about it. So I want to get back out there!
Did you sleep last night then? Either way, I'm glad you could get your run in. Move to SD and it will last till April!
Good luck tomorrow!
Oh, I wanted to tell you that I used Gatorade in my pak yesterday rather than this sugar free nunn I've been using. I don't know that I drank more, but I enjoyed it more. It just tastes better. I'm going back to that. I switched a year ago and I just don't like the nunn as much.
And I didn't eat that snack that killed my run a couple weeks ago. And I was fine!
I have always just had water in my bottle. Maybe I should try gatorade or something like that.
I'm sure you'll do fine at that marathon! Can't wait to hear all about it.
