I did a 10 miler this morning but my feet are still bothering me. Ran in my old shoes today. I'm going to a running store in St. Paul tomorrow or Wednesday and see what they can tell me. If my feet felt ok I could run a lot farther I think. Legs and lungs feel good and strong. So, it's just the feet.
The bib number mystery for Grandma's Marathon is resolved! Men's numbers start at 100 and women's numbers start at 6100 so we both have very low numbers. They are assigned according to registration order.

Too bad about your feet, but otherwise you sound ready to roll. I'll be interested to hear what the running store tells you.
I woke up this morning still a totally broken woman. I hurt from my ankles to my arms. Just crazy. Back at it tomorrow though. But I don't feel bad about not running. I hurt too much!
I'm a little sore about those numbers. But, yeah, mystery solved!
Really, it just does not make any sense. How many runners are allowed? 10K? Anyway, they. Well, no anyway. I don't know.
I'm taking today and tomorrow off. Still feel a little sore this morning but just didn't want to get up early enough to do it. And tomorrow I expect to be at the hospital still so will just enjoy a couple days of rest.
Why do they need to divide the men's and women's numbers anyway? I don't see the point.
Days off can be very good and healthy.
I'm excited to hear about the running store! I bet they will have great advice for you. Maybe you need botox shots in your feet to stop them from sweating!
So I guess that means I was the 20th woman to sign up? Because I'm 6120. And do the separate the male and female elite runners in the same way? So an elite male is 1 and an elite female is 6100 (or 6101, however they divvie it up)?
I don't know how they do the elite runners but you must have been the 20th woman to register. I was clear to tell them I was not from Kenya!
No run here this morning. I'm so tired I barely made it down to the cafeteria to find coffee! I'm going home late this afternoon though for our last Confirmation class tonight and will plan to run on the TM in the morning to give the new shoes a tryout.
I had a very young woman helping me yesterday at the running store but she did seem to know what she was talking about. She said they have 3 physical therapists who serve as advisers to their stores and none of them recommend the Asics 2170 which is the newest version of the shoes I have been wearing for two years and is what I bought out there at RRS. I tried on 6 different pairs of shoes in 3 different brands and these Asics 3030's felt the best of all. So we shall see what tomorrow brings.
I'm sure you are worn out. You are spending tonight at home, yes? I did talk to Mom a bit today. LOOPY! I hope she did eat her pudding first!
That's great about the shoe store. Interesting about the old shoes, that they don't recommend them. I know it was busy, but RRS should be on top of that kind of stuff, too.
Send em back! I'll take them in and trade them out.
Sure hope those new shoes are great for you.
