But it was hard today. Seemed much harder than the 12 miles last Saturday. Gorgeous morning and perfect running weather so that was great. But my feet were really bothering me today. I wore a pair of those short blue socks I bought at RRS a couple years ago and I've worn them many times but never for this long a run and I wonder if they were the problem. My feet just felt hot and cramped so I ended up walking more than I have ever walked in a half marathon except for that one in Red Wing when it was 500 degrees. But I did 14.1 miles. Pace was terrible so we won't talk about that!

Yeah, I disregard slow pace! What kind of socks do you usually wear for your longer runs? I really, really like those smart wool running socks. I have two pairs now. Cause I'm fancy!
Good for you for getting it done! Fast/slow/walking - you did it, and that's what counts!
Don't smart wool socks keep your feet too warm though> I have two pairs that I wear during the winter when it's really cold but would never wear them in the summer or for running.
I have just been wearing white tube socks on my long ones because I've worn pants and that's what I wear when I wear pants.
Opps! I just looked at the pics from our SD Half and see that I was wearing those RRS blue short socks!! So....there goes that theory.
