It was like a snow day - you know, a day off. But rain induced!
I didn't realize it was raining until I opened the door to hit the road! And I thought, "You know what? I'm just not that dedicated!!" So I did a million jumping jacks and various floor exercises. And I can feel them - I'm sore!
I did get out at lunch and did some hill running. So it wasn't a total wash today!
My weigh in made me sad this morning, though. I was up half a pound from my low (yay!!) weight of yesterday. And I KNOW it was because I did not get to sweat out every ounce of liquid with a run before stepping on that scale! Oh well. Thems the breaks!
You asked about hill running. Well, first, I started it because it is really good for helping with speed on regular runs. Or so "they" say. It is a muscle builder and helps with general stamina.
I just found a hill close to the office. I bet it is only a tenth of a mile going up. I'll drive it Monday to get a distance. Anyway, it isn't gigantic. So I go to the hill and I run up it as fast as I can. And then I walk down. It helps me get my breath back. And then I run up it again! I am doing it six times right now. It is a major heart pumper, I'll tell you that.
I took some time off doing hills and just picked it up again a month ago, I guess. But the first time, oh did my butt hurt! I was in agony for two days!
It is raining right now!

Well, a million jumping jacks counts for something! I'm up a pound from my low right now. Had two hamburgers last night! Dumb but they were so good. Still I'm surprised because I did my walk/jog in the morning on the treadmill (2.3 miles) and then walked 2 more miles in the afternoon with Mom. It wasn't just the hamburgers though. Weight has been creeping up all week.
Why would your butt hurt from running hills? You mean your thighs, right?
So, I walked and jogged outside this morning! 42 degrees and 40's my magic number. And no wind so it was nice. Walked one mile and then jogged the whole mile back. but then I was only at 26 minutes so walked back up to the mailbox again and picked up some trash to get to 30 minutes. That was an 11 minute mile! Remarkable for me! Last fall a quarter mile was all I could do. I'm feeling pretty good about this!
Have a good day.
I've also had a million cupcakes! I understand about the burgers - sometimes you've just gotta!
Sounds like you got enough exercise to help work it out though.
I'm glad you can get outside again! Hurray spring!
An 11 minute mile is awesome!! Seriously, not a lot of people have the ability to do that. In fact, that is not "jogging". You are officially a runner!
It is exciting and something to be proud of, for sure. See - your body knew you needed those burgers for energy!
I think hills make the rear ache because you are using different muscles then usual. And, no, I don't mean the thighs. Seriously - my butt hurt! The for real butt cheeks!
