I had a really great weekend. Maybe not totally nutritionally healthy. But 100% emotionally healthy!
My 5K was great! My time was 32:39. A 5K is 3.1 miles, so I was pretty pleased with my time. Especially considering that I had to take time off my training due to illness. It was fun and I am glad I did it. Also, I was a little nervous and toyed with the idea of backing out. But I did it and I'm glad!
Then Jessica and I (she walked the 5K!) had breakfast. And what did I have, you wonder? Bacon pancakes!!! Fantastic!
Bart and I had hot pot last night and that is a pretty healthy meal, overall. The noodles, not so much I suppose. But veggies and fairly lean meat cooked in broth. What's not to love?
Today I met a girlfriend for coffee and we shared a chocolate croissant and bacon, maple syrup, cheddar cheese scone. AMAZING!!
I roasted a chicken tonight. First time ever! It turned out great!
I will be back to the eating straight and narrow tomorrow. But no matter how many extra calories I ingested, it was worth it! I had fun and I know that they were just blips and not abandonment of a healthy way of life.

Sounds like a great weekend all the way around. Congratulations on the 5K! I've been for my walk this morning and now going to take P to Menard's to buy a new microwave. His antique one finally died yesterday. Then I'll be fixing our supper tonight because Mom is going out with her buddies for dinner. I'm going to fix my version of swiss steak with mashed potatoes and corn from the garden. Have a good day.
