Short night here. I had trouble going to sleep in the first place and then the phone rang at 12:40 am. Marcia Dressel (neighbor to PLC) telling me the bells were ringing and did I know how to turn them off? She had talked to Pastor Valerie who tried to call Pat and got no answer. I told her how to do it but since I don't have keys anymore I couldn't go do it myself. So I went back to bed but, of course, didn't go to sleep for a long time. This morning Pat is asking me to stop by and help her. She had tried to reset the bells yesterday for the 9:00 am Sunday service and got something screwed up so they're set to come on at midnight and not go off! So I will go help her out. First middle of the night phone call I've had since retiring and I don't miss them.
That's my excuse for the day and I'm stickin' to it!

Hahaha!!!! Wow! That's crazy! You were nice to help them. This is why I put my phone on do not disturb. I'm with you, there is nothing compelling about a middle of the night phone call.
This is not an excuse. It is a reason. A very respectable reason!
