Self Control

Well, today I started walking again after about 1 month of nothing. (Approximately 1 week prior to surgery I was just too sick and now it is 3 weeks after.) So I got a 'how to train for a 5K' website that I'm using. I figure I want to be consistent and using this may help that. But boy does it take self control to walk and not run! I was on the river trail today and the local marathon was yesterday so there were tons of sidewalk chalk motivations. "Run like the wind!" I walked thank you. Phew.

Hey, good morning!! And good for you! Glad to have you back in the fold! You can read my last couple of posts to hear my sad story!

But this morning I did a 6 mile bike ride in 29.41. I don't know if that's good or bad but given a couple of the hills on this route I think it's pretty good. Got my heart rate up and running, too, which just doesn't happen for me while walking. So, guess a 5 or 6 mile bike ride will be my morning routine for a while. Also did my push ups and sit ups.

Have a good dall!

Yay Amy! So happy to see your post! Getting back into it...well, motivation can be tough for me so I'm glad for you! You can walk like the wind too. Sometimes wind breezes rather then gales....not sure if that is proper but you get it!

Dad, you are really adding to your bike distance! I bet that 6 miles in 30 minutes is a great time. But I suppose just getting your heart rate up is what really counts.

How was the foot today? And, yeah, I typed "food" again!

I had a day of slack. I was up in time to run but I just decided I wasn't into it....so I didn't! I did run hills at lunch, though. I'll be back to it tomorrow!
