I finally signed up for the half marathon. I've just been so worried about my foot! But my new shoes are helping a lot and I was able to run 5 miles yesterday. So I feel confident I'll be able to do the half. Maybe not as fast as I hoped, because I've lost some training time. Alas! But I'll be able to do it.
As mentioned, I ran 5 miles yesterday. Around the lake. It was a nice day out there.

Good for you! I'm still not sure about trying the half. I registered for it but can move down to the 10K or 5K if needed. And I might have to do that. Although I did 3 miles at the gym this morning and it went fine with no trouble. So, we'll see when the time gets closer. I need to do some running outside though and it's still too cold in the morning for this old man!
The good thing is you can make a game time decision. And, if I remember correctly, they claim that there's plenty of time to even walk the half. Did I make that up? Anyway, I think that if you decided to do it and walked half of the half (ha!) you'd be fine. But the 10K and 5K options are great! We are just doing this for fun times, anyway, so it will all be good!
