Well, we did it! Angie and I ran the WhistleStop Half Marathon yesterday in Ashland, WI. Cold and windy and we nearly froze to death while waiting to get started but we got it done. About 44 degrees at the start but a very strong and cold wind. 1548 runners. I did it in 2.25.10 so a minute slower than Grandma's in June but 12 minutes faster than the heat stroke run in Red Wing in July. Wow, I have run 3 half marathons in 2011!!! Who would have ever thought it possible? Not me. But there it is in the record book.
I'm writing this on Sunday afternoon and I am a little stiff and sore but not as bad as I feared. I worked this morning and all went well with that so no worse for wear. But I'll be taking a couple days off now.

You deserve a couple of days off! Congratulations to you, Dad! You did great. That half was really cold and I know you didn't feel as prepared in the past, but you were still on par with your time. That's great!
Yeah, 5 years ago we probably would have laughed if someone told us we would be like this!
I've been slacking. Yesterday I worked all day, so I just didn't have a chance. And then I was out till 2:30 singing karaoke! It was sooo fun! But I was so tired all day today. Guess that is what happens when you get old! 2:30 becomes as late as it sounds!
2:30 in the morning? You're a lot younger than me!!
