Day off and gym and....cruise!

So, it hit me today. I have a cruise coming up in a few SHORT weeks. I have some serious work to do. Yep, time to pull out the food journal and food scales!

I did go to the gym today. I did the elliptical for 20 minutes - running style. And then I did some serious weight lifting.

I made a grocery store trip and have a house full of healthy food. I really need to buckle down.

Tonight my right ankle is really sore and the bottom of that foot hurts. That is the one that looked bruised post run. I am going to engage in some serious icing. If this persists beyond this weekend, I'm going straight to the doctor. I don't want to mess around with this.

I'll do something tomorrow! Wish I was doing something with YOU!

Take care of that ankle! Good for you on the gym and the groceries! You'll be in great shape for the cruise!

I did 2 miles on the TM again this morning and have decided that's all I'm going to do this week. Will start some longer runs next week or I might stay with 2 milers but work on my speed which I have never done.

I'm looking at some other runs later in the summer and will do the Wannigan Days 5K in SCF on 7/16. Otherwise, I'm not sure yet. I'd like to do that half on the 4th in Minneapolis but it's just too soon I think.

I hope so! I'm aiming to make it so!

Speed work is kind of fun, actually. Hills are great for speed work. Because you have to work so hard, it gets you in good shape for the flats.

When does registration close for the race on the 4th? If I had to decide today, I'd say no way! If I could decide on the 3rd.....well, maybe!

You have to register by midnight this Sunday so a week ahead of the race on the 4th. Can't wait until the 3rd!

By the way, I really want to run a half marathon now. Especially after seeing your finish. It looks like it was FUN!
